team recovered from last
week's defeat to hand the
Champion Office team a 17-6
thumping. It was an unusual
game as the Hospital four-
some scored four points, then
the Champion crew returned
to score three, only to have
four more scored on them and
so on to the final football -like
finish. The combination of
Klages, Duckworth, Bergen
and Miskie played a wild
draw game that put continued
pressure on Champion Skip
Jim Bolan's team and
resulted in the high score.
Once again the G.D,C.I.

Team
team involved in a close
match. Their opponents were
the Elementary Teacher
Team. True to professional
solidarity the teachers
finished even at six points
apiece. In the extra end, the
G.D.C.I. members each put a
rock into the house and when
the shooting was all over they
found themselves victorious.
The win was ' particularly
satisfying for the high school
group since they were behind
5-0 after only three ends.
Lead Dianne Clo•et was
outstanding for the G.D,C.I.
foursome while Dianne
Budnark had an excellent
evening in a losing cause.

Lions shut out Hanover, 4 - 0
in a strong defensive display.
Saturday .. they defeated
Kincardine, 7 - 6, in a wide-
open garne in Kincardine.
The two victories leave the
Lions with a record of eight
wins in their first On league
games.
Brad Armstrong, who is
playing a strong game for the
Lions both ways every time
out, had a goal and an assist
against Hanover, David
Gallow and defencemen John
Peters and Philip Wood were
the other goal scorers. Mark
Crawford had one assist. Jeff
Denomme recorded the
shutout in the Lions' cage a9d
made several key stops in
doing so.
Saturday in Kincardine the
Lions forgot about defence
and got themselves into a
shoot-out with the home
team. Kincardine jumped
into a 4 - 0 lead in the first
period and looked like they
would run the Lions out of the
rink, Dean Elliott had two of
the early Kincardine goals
while Jamie Emmerton and
Dave Petteplace scored the
others.
Goderich got , one back
before the end of the first
period when Paul Day scored
on a pass from John Thom-
pson.
The Lions began .to get
untracked in the second
period, . outscoring Kin-
cardine 2 - 1. Brad Arm-
strong, assisted by Mark
Crawford and Daryl
Madge, and Paul Day, with
his second goal of the game
were the Lions scorers.
Darren Maurer got the
Kincardine tally.
The Lions went to town in
the third frame, scoring four
goals to Kincardine's one.
Two goals by captain David
Gallow, assisted by Mark
Crawford both times and
Brad Armstrong once, tied
the game at 5 - 5. Kincardine
scored with just - over five
minutes left when Eddie de la ,
Paz beat Terry Bean in the
Lions' net. However, Brad
Armstrong scored his second
of the night to tie it again at 6 -
6 on a pass from Mark C
awford with .2:25 left in the
game. David Galkow put the
Lions ahead for the first time
in the game, with his th.ird of
the night, assisted by Paul
Day.
That toal, with 1:42 left to
play, stood up to give the
Lions the 7 - 6 win. Although
the game was far from a
.classic, coaches Richard
Madge and Bob Dick were
pleased with the way the
Lions fought hack after being
so far behind early in the
game.
Last night, the Lions
travelled to Port Elgin and
tonight (Thursday) they play
