Last Wednesday was Louis
Stadelmann's night. Louis
played and won three games
to leap into third place in the
top level with an excellent
.833 win -loss mark. Both
Dave . Weary and Chas.
MacDonald won one game to
keep Dave in first place with
11 wins to Charlie's 10. Also
moving up into the top level
by way Of two wins was Bob
Dick. Bob has caused the
competition. for third place to
thicken as it is now a three-
way battle between
Stadelmann, Jim Kingsley
and Dick.

The key to the victory was
Linda Bell as she showed her

LeBrun and Jim Bell the
correct way to curl. Despite
being shorthanded, the
Assessment threesome
played a strong game
allowing Ron. Klages' team
only two ends and once again
indicating that they are still
the team to beat.
Jack Kellough's Champion
Plant team also remained
undefeated as they fought off
a late surge to gain a 8-4
victory over the Kinsmen
Club. Fine shots and powerful
sweeping were the order of
the day as Charlie Crawford,
"Broom" Profit and Glen
Falkiner refused to give the
Kinsmen a chance to recover
from a shaky start. Kinsmen
newcomer, Al Drennan and
Tom Allen had an enjoyable,

A draw to the button
wouldn't have helped anyone
at the Ladies Opening "Jit-
ney" but a few members
certainly appreciated the
draw that was made. Ann
McIsaac won a beautiful
comforter, Jerry Zurbrigg
carried off the $10 silver coin
donated by Victoria and
Grey, and Joann McCallum
received an Avon gift donated
by Hilda Sampson.
Now that the curling season
is in full swing curlers will
have to start looking for that
elusive draw weight, It won't
come out of the hat, but there
is someone who may help us
find it. Jack McKinnon
recently attended a coaching
clinic and has been offering
instruction in curling
techniques. If anyone is
experiencing problems
delivering that rock, look up
Jack, our "curling pro."
