The Board expressed their pleasure at coming to this stage in the project which has been quite a bit longer than they had anticipated. Banks indicated that the hospital's new Mental Health Resource Centre which is located in Wingham and is an extension of the local department of Psychiatry and part of the county -wide community mental health program being Carried out by this hospital is to be located in a house which has been recently purchased by the Wingham and District Hospital for this purpose. The house is located about four doors from the hospital and provides an ideal setting for the Outpatient and Day Care type program which is being carried on for that region. The Board approved the purchase of the necessary furnishings for the house and also to meet the costs of the rental from within the Psychiatric Service Budget.
