Christmas)
This Christmas show your
loved ones how much you
care. Show them a Bulova
and you'll show them the
best time they've ever
had. Bulova, trusted and
treasured for over 100
years!
Secondary School, Exeter.
The evening of three one
act plays affordedthe
audience an opportunity to
witness some fine talent.
The first play by Bradford
was entitled Little Brother,
Little Sister. There were only
three characters in the play --
cook, Sir and Madam. All
three characters were well
portrayed. However, the play
itself left something to be
desired. It was full of hidden
symbolism that was hidden a
bit too . well for the average
viewer.
The play was set in a bomb
shelter twenty years after an
atomic disaster. Although it
is safe to leave the shelter,
the old cook is convinced that
she must - remain in the
shelter with the two children,
Sir and Madam, for at least 50
years, When the children
speak of the...door, the cook
threatens to kill them like she'
killed their parents. The
children' don't even know an
outside world exists until the
end of the play. Symbolically,
the play is showing the
emergence of a child into
adulthood and the outside
world.
The second play, Pounds
and Penance, was performed
