FEET FIRST
You might find it surprising, but the most important
equipment in Cross Country Skiing is the Boots. It's the
walking action in Snow Touring that requires a substantial'
shoe. Uncomfortable, sore and 'or cold feet will do much to
spoil the fun of the sport.
Cross Country Boots must have a snug but comfortable fit.
Too large a boot will reduce control over the skiis. Short,
tight boots cause blisters and cold feet. A word for the wise
when buying boots would be to try the boots on with the
socks you are going to wear.
There ore several types of boots on the market. For this
area light touring boots (very similar in appearance to track
shoes) would be best. They are most suited to this cirea's
basically flat terrain.
Next week we will took -at the various boot constructions
availoble....Seo you then
