The GDCI senior girls
basketball team advanced
into the Huron Perth Con-
ference finals by virtue of
their 40-20 victory over South

with 11, led the Stratford
scorers.
Lucie Turcotte was the
games top scorer, with 17 for
the Vikings. Audrey Van-
denheuvel had eight, Karen
Pond seven and Joni
Thompson six points for the
Karrie Kernich led South Vikings.

Bantams 35 seconds from

The Goderich Bantams
were 35 seconds from a 4-3
win over Walkerton Saturday
night in Goderich and had to
settle for a 4-4 tie. Sunday
night in Kincardine the
Bantams were dropped 4-2 by
Kincardine.
Goderich did all its scoring
in the first two periods
against Walkerton. Willie
Denomme grabbed two goals
in the first to give Goderich a
2-0 lead. Darrel Graham
assisted on Denomme's first
goal and Gary Williams on
the second. Walkerton got on
the board at 5:03 of the second
on a three way play finished
off by Paul Berberick. Just
over two minutes later Mike
Wedlock put Goderich back
on top by two with a goal
assisted by Mark Rowe.
Walkerton tied the game in
less than two minutes.
Berberick fed Robin
Rabishaw and he brought his
club to within one and 34
seconds later Rabishaw set
Berberick up and his second
goal tied the game. Goderich
roared right back getting the
go ahead, goal 45 seconds
after Walkerton tied the
game. Randy Graham scored
on a play set up by Mike
Wedlock.
The teams played even up
through the third period but
Walkerton managed to tie the
game for the second and final
time with 35 seconds left on
the clock. Rabishaw got his
second goal in the final
minute with help from Kevin
Elliott.
In Kincardine Sunday night
Kincardine jumped to a two
goal lead in the first period
and never looked back. Bruce
Murray opened the game's
scoring 3:12 into the first
period and three minutes .
later Mike Burrows made it 2-
0 Kincardine.
Mike Wedlock cut the lead
in half in the first minute of
the second period with help
from defenseman Dave •
McDonald. Joe Zold grabbed
the winner for Kincardine
with three and a half minutes
left in the period and
Goderich was out of the
game. Dick Davidson scored
an insurance goal three
minutes into the final period
and Goderich finally
managed a score with just
under two minutes left to
play. ,Dean Bowra scored an
unassisted goal. with 1:48 left
to go irrthe game.
Police Chief
commends club
The November 13 meeting
of the Circle City C.B. Club
was called to order with 25
people present.
Following roll call, the
treasurer's and secretary's
reports were read. John
Sprung, "Salty", was Ac-
cepted into the club as a new
member.
Goderich Police Chief Pat
King was a' surprise guest
speaker at the meeting. He
commended the club on the
good service they provided
during "Hallowe'en Patrol"
on Saturday, Sunday a'r1d
Monday, October 29, 30 and
31.
A letter was read and an
award was accepted from the
Jubilee 3 committee for club
services during the Jubilee 3
events in Goderich.
A letter of thanks will be
sent to Werner Thomas of
Ontario Radio in Waterloo for
a donation of a Courier
Classic III base -mobile C.B.
radio which will be given as a
door prize at the club's dance
in Saltford on December 10.
Dance tickets are now
available from club mem-
bers.
