The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon K. Brindley of RR 6 Goderich and the groom is the son of Mrs. Margaret .MacLennan of RR 1 Tiverton and the late Clarence MacLennan. The Reverend Ralph King of North Street United Church officiated at the double ring ceremony. Music for the ceremony was provided by soloist William Stiles of Goderich who sang Wedding Prayer, Wedding Hymn and Amazing Grace. He was accompanied by organist Robert Blackwell. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a long white gown of Quiana material featuring a scalloped neckline and long bishop sleeves with wide cuffs. Lace decorated the top of the sleeves and the cuffs. Lace also trimmed the bottom of the dress and draped from the empire waist. White lace flowers wkth pearl centres "adorned the front of the dress. The bride's headpiece was a juliet cap with white pearls and mat- ching lace which held a long pure silk ullusion veil with lace to match at the bottom of the layer of the long, chapel train and the dress itself. The bride wore a necklace and earrings, gifts of the groom. She carried a cascade bouquet of white miniatrue carnations, bridal pink roses, gy-psophila and springeri fern. Matron of honor was Mrs. Donelda Anson of Hanover, sister of the bride. She wore a long dress of polyester fortrel in a bright red color with a double cape of white with red on top. She carried a bouquet in syrll.phony design of white iceburg mums, pink miniature- car- nations and springeri fern. She wore red roses in her hair. Bridesmaids were Helen Brindley, Norinne Brindley, Nancy Brindley and Marie Brindley, all sisters of the bride, of Goderich. Miss Catherine Anson and Miss Carolyn Anson, nieces of the bride, were flower girls. They wore long white dresses of polyester fortrel with white stripes and puffed sleeves. White lace trimmed the collars and empire waists. They both carried nosegays of white iceburg mums and pink miniature carnations. They wore red roses in their hair. Groomsman was Ronald MacKinnon of Walkerton, friend of the groom. Ushers were John MacLennan of Kitchener, brother of the groom, John Campbell of Tiverton, cousin of the groom, Murray Munro of Tiverton, friend of the groom and Angus MacLennan of Goderich, brother of the groom. The groom and his attendants wore dark tuxedos trimmed with black. All wore white carnations. Ringbearers were Robert MacLennan of Kitchener and Norman MacLennan of Goderich. They wore navy blue blazers and gray pants. Following the wedding, a supper was held at the Blyth arena for about 200 guests. The flowers of the bride's attendants, silver candles and a four tier wedding cake with an arrangement of blue roses decorated the head table. Wedding bells decorated the arena. The wedding party stood on the stair steps to greet the guests. Dancing followed the meal. The bride's mother greeted guests in a light blue gown of polyester with pearl trim around the neckline and a corsage of pink and white miniature carnations. The groom's mother chose a royal blue long gown of crepe material with sheer sleeves. Her flowers were pink and white miniature carnations. For a wedding trip to the southern states, the bride changed to a beige and flowered pattern dress and a corsage of white carnations. Mr. and Mrs. David MacLennan will reside at RR 1„ Tiverton, Ontario. Prior to the wedding, the bride was feted at a shower given by Mrs. Angus MacLennan and a shower given by the Carlow community. eOpl_ inparticular Poppy campaigning underway The chairman of the Legion I3ranch 109 Poppy Committee this year, Comrade E.G. "Barney" Davis informed the I3ranch this week that plans are now completed for the -annual Poppy Canvass and the parades to mark the observance of Remembrance Day. Organizations and businesses in the community have been contacted to support the Poppy Fund with the purchase of a wreath or a donation to the fund and the Poppy Chairman reports that the response has been most favorable. From Thursday November 3 to Saturday November 5, citizens of the community will also be given .an opportunity to donate to the Poppy Fund when members of both Branch 109 and the Ladies' Auxiliary will distribute poppies both to the homes and 40" 41‘ It*S° on the sheets of the town and suburbs. Poppy boxes have also been located at various business outlets in town for those who wish to support the Poppy Fund but are missed in the canvass. Donations to the Poppy Fund enable Legion Branch 109 to provide bursaries for children of veterans to continue their education beyond the secondary level. This year poppies will also be distributed to the schools in the area and the students will be given information as to the significance of the poppy• On Sunday November 6, Legion Branch 109 will hold their annual church parade at Knox Presbyterian Church where Legion Padre, the Rev. G.L. Royal will conduct the service. On Friday November 11 at 11 a.m. all citizens and veterans of the community are invited to join the Branch in observing Remembrance I)ay at a service to be held at the Cenotaph on the Square.
