second goal of the game when

up by two early in the second -
when Place scored on a
passing play with Corriveau.
Huron Park cut the lead back
to onegbing into the third but
the final 20 minutes belonged
to Goderich when they scored
five unanswered goals,
Charlie Robertson started
the burst with a goal from
MacDonald and Corriveau.
Tom O'Brien added another
with the help from Hagan
then Pat Mahon, Hagan and
Place each grabbed one to
round out the scoring,
with a very neat goal scored
by Larkin, with assists going
to Mailtet and Roger Lewis.
St. Thomas finished the
scoring for the period with an
unassisted goal from Walker.
Goderich controlled the
play inthe second period
shutting out St. Thomas four
goals to none. Rob Trebish
opened . up the scoring on a
pass from Mailtet, Then
Mailtet scored with Berlet
picking up the assist. The
third goal was scored by
Larry Daer, shooting it home
after stealing it from a St.
Thomas player. Hodges
finished the Goderich tally at
the 18 minute mark, scoring a
quick` goal, Terry Kisch
receiving the assist.
St. Thomas came back with
their last goal of the ,,night,
Hanover
starting off the third period
scoring, but Goderich had lots
of life left, getting three more
goals. Trebish started
Goderich off with an
unassisted goal for his second
of the night. Lewis made his
hard digging count with his
first goal of the night assisted
by Daer and Robert
McDonald. Mailtet finished
the scoring with an
unassisted goal to make the
final score 10-3.
Bantam BB's fight back
to tie Walkerton
The Goderich Bantam BB
club opened its 1977-78 season
at home Saturday losing to
Hanover 6 - 3 then went on the
road Sunday to Walkerton
and skated to a 2 - 2 tie.
Goderich travels to Lambeth
Friday night for an exhibition
game and plays Hanover in
Goderich Saturday.
Hanover scored first in the
season opener in Goderich
when Greg •Koebel beat
Robert Cummings with just
over five minutes played.
Goderich roared back to take
a 2 - 1 lead on goals by John
Huff and Larry Boyce. Huff
finished off a three way play
set up by Mike Wedlock and
Boyce with 1:04 left to play in
the opening period. Alan
Bakker scored an unassisted
goal with two minutes played
in the second to boost
Gqderich into the lead.
Andy Lehman and Jeff
Speers both got unassisted
goals for Hanover in the next
two minutes to put their club
back on top by one but with
five and a half minutes left
Randy Graham set up Dave
Muffitt and Goderich tied_ the
game for the third time.

Bridge scores
The Goderich Duplicate
Bridge Club had seven tables
in play on Tuesday evening at
the Legion Hall.
In the North-South division,
Leonard George and Joe
Martin were first with 671/4
points. Bill Bradley and Aelin
Weerasooriya placed second
with 661/2 points and Mary
Donnelly and Eleanor
Erskine were third with 66
points.
Verna Worthy and Jean
Cook topped the .East-West
division of play with 93 points.
Betty and Ray Fisher were
second with 75 points and
Auleen Curry and Jean
Papernick were third with
701/2 points.
Volleyball starts
Interest has mushroomed
so quickly for township
volleyball that even before a
registration evening there
are enough members to make
up two teams.
Registration night will be
held on Tuesday, November 8
at 8 p.m. in Holmesville
School. Anyone 13 years and
over may join.

a tie and had what could have
been the winning goal
disallowed. - Walkerton drew

up by Jeff Eckenswieler. At
the seven minute -mark
Randy Graham scored with
help from Dave Muffitt to tie
the game but a minute and a
half later Walkerton took the
lead hack when Paul Ber-
herick scored an unassisted
goal.
The teams played• even
until midway through the
final period when Dave
McDonald scored a short
handed goal that tied things
up. Mike Wedlock •set
McDonald up while killing the
penalty and he beat Scott
Fritz to give Goderich the
equalizer..
The boys played their first
game of . the schedule
Saturday night against
Hanover. Goderich again
came out the victors with a
score of 7-3. Goderich scored
the first goal of the game at
the 38 second mark, when
Hodges picked up a pass from
Daer, and tucked it behind
Hanover goalie. Hanover
didn't waste much time; tying
it up within two minutes.
Before the first period was
over Larry Madge got two
goals, one assisted by Trebish
and Mailtet in a very neat
passing play and the second
was unassisted. Madge took
the goalie out and,drove it
home. At the end othe first
period of play the score was 3-
I.
Hanover opened the scoring
in the second period with a
goal by Joel Klassen, who
ended up to be their top
scorer with two goals. Madge
rather quickly answered him
with his third goal of the night
on another well set up passing
play. Assists went to Trebish
and Berlet. At the 12 minute
mark, Rob McDonald got a
short handed goal, when he
fired a beautiful slapshot
from the point into the lower
corner of the net. Assists
were given to Mailtet and
Trebish in another sharp
passing play. Hanover came
back with their last goal of
the night. Ending the second
period with a score of 5-3.
Mailtet started the scoring
off in the third period, with an
unassisted goal at the 3:52
mark. The..third period was
very long with Hanover
doubling there penalties and
collecting two misconducts.
Hodges finished the scoring
for Goderich with a neat goal
assisted by Daer.
Goderich meets Hanover
again this Saturday
November 5 at 8:00 p.m.
