The Listowel touchdown, scored by John Wilson in the last minute of play in the game, was the only one given up by the tough Viking 'defence in the six regular season games. The play went R5 yards following a pass that was deflected by two Viking defenders before Wilson latched onto it Even then a spirited effort by Dave MacKenzie stopped the Listowel receiver on the Viking one yard line. From there, it took three cracks at the Viking defence to give the Lords their touchdown. The Vikings led 10-0 at halftime on the strength of a G9 -yard touchdown on a pass and run play from quar- terback Bill Walters -to Dave MacKenzie, converted by Eric Mitchell, and a 30 -yard ^field goal kicked by Mitchell. Donnelly also felt that perhaps the Vikings had continued to try to run inside against the Lords when they should have started to go outside. Defensively, the Vikings played well, allowing Listowel a total of only 175 yards gained.
