Bazaar, penny savers' supper
Holmesville ladies busy at church hall.
(Intended for last week)
The UCW of the
Holmesville United Church
met in the church hall on
Tuesday afternoon. Alice
Porter presided over the
meeting. Mrs. Doris Batkin
read the scripture and the
meditation was read by
Phyllis Cox. Prayers were
said by Mrs. Kaye Harris and
readings were given by Mrs.
Porter and Mrs. Jean Ginn.
Roll call was answered with
something you associate with
the season. Mrs. Cox con-
ducted the business and the
penny savers supper will be
held on November 1 at 7 p.m.
Please note - the annual
bazaar at the White Car-
nation will be held on
November 9 at 2:30 p.m. not 2
p.m. 0s previously reported.
Holmesville a
school news
On Thursday, October 6 the
boys and girls soccer teams
travelled to Brucefield and
played in a tournament. 41 e
boys won in their division and
the girls came up with a very
strong second.
On October 6, there was a
presentation for the soccer
teams in the auditorium. Also
during this assembly, the
nominations for various of-
fices in the school was held.
The elections took place on
October 12 and the results
were: president, Jim
MacDonald; vice president,
Sean Van Dongen; treasurer,
))avid Elliott; secretary, Lori
Feagan.
On Wednesday, October 19
a cross country race was
scheduled to be held. Many
students from the school were
to be involved in the race
which was held at the Hullett
Conservation Area.
Personals
Congratulations are in
store for the senior girls and
boys baseball teams of
Holmesville who both won
trophies for this summer's
ball.
Some members of the
Goderich Township WI at-
tended the workshops for the
WI procedures, which was
held in the Carlow Hall on
Thursday, October 13.
Please, let's not forget the
Goderich Township WI
variety concert on O xtober 27.

members or at the door.
