British
Pub
nite
Friday
The Vanastra Lions Club
are promoting a British Pub
entertainer to raise money
for local welfare projects and
it promises to be a fun
evening for everyone on
Friday -October 28. The
Sandpiper Inn will•become a
British Pub, and when Robert
Smith belts out "I'm a
Londoner" on the upright
piano, you know itt for real.
Billed as "London Bobby"
(he Was born and raised in
dear old London) Robert, like
all true Englishmen, be they
duke or dustman, loves the
friendly atmosphere of the
grand old British institution
known as the "local". He'
dressed in a pearly suit
Union Jack vest and peake
cap. Even his tie and socks
are union jack motif. The
mother of pearl buttons are
authentic in the traditional
fashion of East London's
costermongers. (We would
call them fruit sellers.)
' With such a common name
as Smith, Bob realized that he
needed something else, so six
years ago he became London
Bobby, though he's the first to
admit that some people think
he's a former policeman.

In a radio and telev
