JA1VMES CARRICK nox wedding nox Presbyterian Church in Goderich was decorated white crysanthemums on Saturday, October 1 for noon wedding ceremony of James Walter Carrick Ruth Katharine German both of Goderich. e bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William C. man of Goderich and the groom is the son of Mr. and Donald Carrick of Goderich. e Reverend G. Lockhart Royal officiated at the mony. Organist Lorne Dotterer played Morning Has ken and 0 Perfect Love during the signing of the ster• e bride was given in marriage by her father, She a gown that she designed and made herself. It was a length white sleeveless dress with an empire waist stand up collar. The dress was made of polyester knit a bodice overlay of chantilly shimmer rose lace and eer chiffon overskirt. The dress featured a fingertip -of the same lace as the bodice. A Juliette cap med with seed pearls and a lace bordered waist th illusion veil completed the tiered effect. The bride ied Coral roses, miniature white carnations, baby's th and a sprig of white heather sent to her by her mother, Miss M. Black of Rothesay; Scotland. id of honor was Marnie Mills of Sudbury, friend of ride. She wore a sleeveless coral colored long dress a sheer coral and green floral colored cape and pale n picture hat. She carried a nosegay of white ear- ns with coral tinted daisies and trailing ribbons, idesmaid was Miss Noris Carrick of Goderich; sister e groom. MORTGAGES particular Ladies receive_ 30 year pins The Ladies' Legion Auxiliary, Branch 109 Goderich met on Tuesday night, October 11 in the Jubilee room. Miss Vi Rutherford was initiated into the Auxiliary and Mrs. Merle Baltzer transferred from !Kingsville. A highligl-;t of the evening was the presentation of 30 year pins by President. Mona Davis to Evelyn Carroll who was pinned by her daughter Sharon Scruton, Anne Anderson pinned by her daughter Mary Rivett and Norah Hugill pinned by Comrade Rose Hill. Business of a routine nature was discussed and an order for a large wreath has been placed with the poppy chairman along with many volunteers who will help in the yearly poppy campaign, the proceeds of which go to help the veteran and his family. A dance will be held in the Jubilee room after the poppy drive on November 4 and for admission, a poppy must be worn. Refreshments will be available as well as good entertainment and music for dancing. Any proceeds will go to the poppy fund. The ladies are very busy and active as usual and thanks to Mary Clairmont and Mary Drennan and her committee, a successful rummage sale was held on the 14th. On November 2 from 1 to 9 p.m. the ladies are having their annual Snowflake Bazaar and tea and bak; table, so plan to attend for an enjoyable afternoon and evening. Tickets will also be Mae/ 44 available at that time on the Christmas cake to be made by Marg McMillan and Karen Draper and iced by Hilda Hirst. They will still be 10 cents, three for :25 cents and 1' -for$ '1. Plans are being rnade to entertain a bus Toad of veterans from Westminster, Huronvicw and Maitland Manor, late in November. The celebrity' dinner held tin September 30 was a great success and now the ladies are to he honored by hosting a dinner for Premier William Davis on October 21. The ladies jointly with the branch gave bursaries to two worthy students. A lunch was served al the meeting by Gail McWhinney. Executive members please remember the meeting on Tuesday, October 25 at 7:30 Conrad E. Mclady, son of Dr. and Mrs. T.R. Melady, 362 Huron Rd., Goderich, received his Bachelor of Science degree at the Fall Convocation at University of Guelph on October 7,- 1977. Degrees were conferred on the Graduating Class by the Honourable , Pauline M, McGibbon after her installation as Chancellor. p:ni.
