Unit One of -the Knox United Church Women took as their theme, "Bread" when they met last Tuesday evening in the Sunday School room of the church, Mrs, Earl St, Jean gave the history of bread going hack to Egyptian times (7000 B,C.) She told of the religious significance of bread and read a poem. The scripture lesson was from John 6,1-14 and 25-34 verses, Mrs. St. Jean and Mrs. Thomas Lawlor demon- strating the technique of bread art,. made roses. Mrs, �T,ohn I)urnin presided for the business and Mrs, Lawrence Plaetzer read the minutes. Mrs. Durnin thanked Mrs.. St. .Jean and Mrs, Lawlor for their part in the meeting. Plans. were made for the nextmeeting,. Mrs, .Stanley Ball and Mrs. Randy Machan will he in charge. -Cleaning the church for November was discussed and articles for the bazaar are to he finished soon.
