This month`s sleeting was
held a week late, due to the
Thanksgiving weekend which
we hope everyone enjoyed.
Roll call was taken with 35
people present. The
treasurer's and secretary's
reports were„read followed by
the social committee's report
given by the 'First Mate",
1)(in Henry.
The club had a very good
response to the car wash held
Lit Prrflrse's garage on Sep-
tember 17. Just; about
everyone working that day
went home cold and wet but
had fun trying to keep dry!
"Thank you everyone for
taking part. The draw for
three glass turkeys was won
by Mr. Randy Kisch.
The Holmesville Midget boys softball team also won a
league championship last week as they downed their
counterpart the Holmesville B team. The members of the
team include Paul Sowerby, Roland Lassaline, Butch
Gregg, Steve Johnston and Brad Duff. The back row in -
eludes coach Ed Johnston, Bob Fuller, Bob Cox, Bob
Johnston, and Jeff Cox. Paul Nurse, Mike Leitch, Danny
Weber and Kim and Phillip Bornath were absent. (staff

A very successful softball
season has come to an end.
Our Midget girls defeated
Benmiller two games to one
to take the series. The games.
had to he played under the
lights to finish out the finals.
Our township did very well,
bringing home two trophies.
The results are as follows:
Tykes - Benmiller; Pee Wee
Girls - Benmiller; Pee Wee
Boys - Varna; Midget Girls -
Holmesville; Midget Boys -
Holmesvillc "A".
We would like to say a
special thank you to all the
coaches and umpires who
gave. so much of their time to
the children this year. Also
thanks to Mrs. 1)eeves for her
donation Of two gloves to the
township; Ray's Shoe Repair
for the donation of his ser-
vices; Murray Gerritt for the
donation .of time for the
diamonds, the Goderich A &
P store for their donation to
our wiener roast, the parents
who drove their children to
the games and to all the kids
who helped make this year
such a terrific summer for us
all.

The Holmesville Midget girls softball team defeated
Benmiller two games to one last week to win the league
championship. Pictured with the trophy are team members

from club members for our
first Anniversary Dance,
December loth at Saltford
Valley Hall. Dancing 9-1 by
Southern Comfort. Buffet
supplied. $10.00 per couple
and all the fun you want!
Proceeds to be donated to
the "Children's Ward" at
Alexandra Marine and
General Hospital. Get your
tickets now for a total of 6
glass turkeys to be won
during the dance.
Pictures were available for
viewing, at the meeting and
will be placed in a club
scrapbook showing members
"hard at work” during
several activities in the past
and future.
A motion was passed to
place an ad in the G.D.C.I.
school yearbook and to split
the cost of a C.B. Radio with
Club -11 from Lucknow which
will be donated to the St.
John's Ambulance.
A letter of thanks was read
from the "Goderich Old-
timers Hockey Association"
thanking members for their
help during the Sky -Diving
Jamboree.
Arrangements are now in
process to have someone
from the Department of
Communications attend a
Monday night
standings clutter
Little Bowl wasted a
chance to move into first
place in Men's Monday Night
bowling and instead settled
for fourth spot in ' the
congested league standings.
Huromic Metals grabbed five
off the Bowlers to continue
their winning ways and stay
on top of the league, three
points ahead of the BD's. The
Metals used Jerry Rivett's
273 single and 756 triple to
grab five and boost their
season earnings to 24. The
Bowlers got a good effort
from Sonny Moore who hit a
279 single and 703 triple but
only managed two points
running their season total to
18.
The 13D's rallied behind
Charlie Johnston's 288 single
and 588 triple to take five
from the Tail Ends and grab
sole possession of second spot
in the league. The BD's have
21 pte�nts on the _season,_Q e,_
ahead—of the Ends and the
Recalls who are tied at third.
Bill Hyde rolled a 275 single to
help the Ends and Bill
Mcisaac chipped itt a 625
three game total to help his
club stay in the top three.
The Recalls gave way to the
late starting Signal .Stars.
"Monday night and used a
meagre two points to stay tied
for third. Don McDougall led
the Recall's effort with a 286
single and 673 triple. George
Vanderburgh came out of his
season long slump to help the
Stars grab five and keep their
hopes alive. Vanderburgh hit
a 319 single and turned it into
a 749 triple and the rest of the
Stars helped to grab five from
the Recalls and move into
sixth place with a season total
of 15.
French Dry Cleaners and
Roy's Boys bowled their way
into a tie for seventh spot in
the league, each team with 14.
The Cleaners lost one game to
the Boys and used their five

when they shut out Augie's

Hopefuls got hope from Lee
Ryan who bowled a 273 single
and 777 triple. Larry Daer led
the bogies with a 246 single
and 708 triple.

many things about our club as
