Dave got off to an excellent start winning both of his games. Don Bogie also got off to a good start with two wins in three games. Five members have managed to stay undefeated through the first two weeks. Kirk Lyndon, Charlie MacDonald, Dave Weary, Jim Kingsley and Sam Hassan hold down the top five spots with no losses. Young Larry Gower is off and running with his best start yet holding down a .700 win -loss record. Larry is in the lead for the most improved player as he is .367 higher than this time last year. We are still looking for and need more members. If you enjoy a good game of chess come on out and give us a try. For more information on the club call Jim Kingsley at 524- 9019. • Incidentally, Sam Hassan and Charlie MacDonald are battling it out in a very tough even game now two hours old. Sam is seeing to it that if Charlie wants to have another undefeated season he is going to have to work hard to get it. The standings as of Oct. 12,, are as follows: LEVEL I WL K. Lyndon 4 0 C. The Colts, a long standing tradition in Clinton, may be brought back to life by Harvey Carter, and father-in- law Hugh Hodges, if enough players and enough en- thusiasm is shown at a practise set for ,last njghL (Wednesday). at the Variastra arena. Carter said that, instead of playing in the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) they would enter the Southern loop of the Western Ontario Athletic Association (WOAA) Intermediate "C" league. They would probably play: 111111111111r teams from Mitchell, Palmerston, Monkton, Belmore, Ripley, Howick, and Kincardine. Carter admitted it was a late start for the team, with players already drifted off to Goderich and Wingham Intermediate clubs, and the Stratford Perths of the Senior Intercontinental League, but he hoped he could' fm-rn the nucleus of Clinton Club anyway. • He- and Hodges have had_ promiSCS "of help, from Paul Anstett, John Leppington, and Stretch Reinhart, and are trying to get George Divok as a coach. Any interested personnel or players are asked to call Harvey at 482-9363 or Hugh at 482-7963.
