MacKenzie did a lot of the
damage, scoring two touch-
downs. The first was a 52 yard
pass and run play from Bill
Walters in the second
quarter. The other came on
another 90 yard kickoff
return, also in the second

and Bernie VanOsch each
scored one touchdown for the
Vikings. Little's was on a six
yard dive play in the first
quarter, while Frayne went
six yards on a reverse in the
third quarter for his.
Van Osch was on the
receiving end of a three yard
pass from Dennis Donnelly
for the Viking's final T.D.
Eric Mitchell kicked four
converts for the Vikings.
In all,' three other Viking
touchdowns were nullified by
penalties. Coach Ray Don-
nelly was not particularly
happy with this aspect, but
couldn't hide his enthusiasm
over the solid play of his
offensive line and the ef-
fective running of his backs.
The. Viking defensive unit_
continuedto be strong against
the run, but has yet to be
subjected to 'any serious test
via the air,
The Vikings next two
games are both away. Today
(Thursday) they play in
Stratford against Stratford
Central and next Thursday
they play in Clinton against
Central Huron. They return
home the following Thursday.

Girl Gagers rout Clinton

The GDCI senior girls
basketball team won their
Dpening game in Huron Perth
league play here last Thur-
sday, defeating Central
Huron Of Clinton, 43-17.
Team captain Karen Pond
led the Viking scorers with l3
points, -Audrey Vandenheuval
had 10 points for the winners.
Anne Marie Murphy hit for
seven points, Lucie'Turcotte
had six, Denise Mitchelmore
four and Sheila O'Brien two
points.
Lori Hesslewood, with
eight, and Mary Anne
Cummings, with four points,
were Clinton's best.
Coach Donna Doidge felt
her team played well
defensively, but had some
trouble putting the ball
through the hoop in the first
half. However in the second
half the GDCI team began to
penetrate Clinton's zone
defence and began to score.
Coach Doidge feels she has a
good, aggressive team and is
optimistic about the new
season.
The GDCI girls play in
