The budget committee felt that each request wotild be different depending on the size of the celebration and that each one should be treated in- dividually. A request for additional lockers- for Goderich District Collegiate institute was tabled until 1975. The high school is short about 50 student lockers according to GDCI principal John Stringer who told the ' hoard that student~ iire having to doable, u_p in lockers to i' .rl3ur;t 4Th4 shortage. The committee felt that the hoard- didn't hatv money this year for ad- ditional lockers hut advised Stringer that if hi, rhos)! budget could he atliusted to purchase the lockers this year without asking the board for more money he 'yeas free to buy them. The board accepttc'd recommendations from the budget committee for the purchase of t colour television for J•A..D. 1\1c(urdy Public School since the school budget can afford it and approved the purchase of a dinosaur climbing ap- paratus for Hensall Public School under the slime auspices. A request for >a new piano for Zurich Public School was tabled to -see if a suitable used piano could he found. The board also amended its policy for comm 1(0Ily use of schools after school. hours. The change alters the charge for the use of the facility to a flat rate rather than the present actual custodial overtime charge. -The policy also permitted school prin- cipals, in the interest of good community- relations, to lend equipment, chairs, tables or other items from. the school at no charge understanding that the borrower- is responsshlc for any damage and that the loan is contingent upon the prompt return of the equipment at i lime - designated by the principal when no overtime charges would he made to the hoard for opening the school. len Green Products age Mixtures and Seeds kVA ENDS INVITE YOU TO VISIT OUR TENT AT 14 lifle Sit os Teeswater Fall Fair Friday, Saturday, October 7 and 8th Follow the trail to the Green and Gold Tent Fair Discount OR CALL OUR LOC AGENT`" HARVEY CULBERT PHONE 9 5 ERT 528-221 7492 (;ODI•:RICH SIGNAL -STAR, THtJRSDAY,.00TOBER 6,1977—PAGE 7 These students were honored with special awards at the annual G.D,C.I, commencement ceremonies on Friday, evening.
