MR. AND MRS. KENNETH STRAUGHAN
Falls honeymoon
Knox Presbyterian Church was decorated with lsihite
daisy mums, melon colored gladioli and white streamers
in candelabras for the wedding ceremony of Donald
Kenneth Straughan and Anita Marie Bourdeau on Sep-
tember 3 at 3:30 p.m.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
Bourdeau of 166 Bennett Street in Goderich and the
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Straughan of 175
Park Street in Goderich.
The Reverend R. C. McCallum officiated at the double
ring ceremony. Mr. Lorne Dotterer presided at the
organ. Soloist was Mr. Grant Ellison who sang Wedding
Song, Walk Hand In Hand and Hawaiian Wedding Song.
The bride was given in marriage by her father,,She
wore a full'length wedding gown of taffeta ovcrlayed with
chiffon and trimmed with French lace. The gown
' featured an empire waistline and long sleeves. A'Juliet
cap held the bride's veil which was also trimmed with
French lace. The dress and veil had a long formal train.
The bride carried a bouquet of sweetheart roses and
baby's breath.
Matron of honor was Mrs. Cherie Schert'zl., of Goderich,
sister of the bride. She wore a melon colored sleeveless
,,.,.dM-, f taffeta ov'er,layed with. chiffon.. The dress
featured a frilled cape and cummerbund. The matron of
honor also wore a white picture hat with melonrose trim.
She carried a basket of white daisy mums and melon
colored baby's breath. f
Bridesmaids were Barb Straughan of Goderich, sister
of the groom and Debbie Mullen of Goderich, friend of
the bride. Their dresses, hats and flowers were identical %.
to the matron of honor's.
Groomsman was Tim Piskorski of Goderich, friend of
the groom. Ushers were Ron Hunking of Auburn. friend
of the groom and Don Johnston of Goderich, brother-in--
law of the groom.
The groom and his attendants wore chocolate brown
tuxedos and white ruffled shirts with melon trim. The
groom wore a boutonniere of melon colored sweetheart
roses. The ushers wore houtonniereS of white carnations
tinted melon.
Following the wedding, a reception was held at the
Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Goderich. The ball
was
decorated with white daisy mums, melon colored gladioli
and white streamers in candelabras. -
The bride's mother greeted guests in a blue silky
polyester floor length sleeveless gown with V neck. She
wore a corsage of yellow sweetheart roses..
The groom's mother chose a shrimp colored polyester
knit floor length dress With cape and a corsage of white
sweetheart roses.
Fora wedding trip to Niagara Falls and the U.S., the
bride changed to a navy blue three piece pant suit with
- white and blue striped blouse and a corsage of ,ed
sweetheart roses.
Mr. and Mrs. Straughan will reside at RR 5, Mencsct
Park,
Prior to the wedding.the bride was feted at showers
held by Mrs. Don Johnston: another given by Mrs. Bill
Million and one given by her sister Cherie Schcrtzl, Barb
Straughan and Debbie Mullen..
Guests were present at the wedding from Niagara
Falls, Windsor, Exeter, Toronto. North Bay, Barrie.
Brantford and London.
