Joni Thompson and Jon Barz were the two Grade 11 students chosen by thephysical
education department at G.D,C.I. to attend leadership training camp at Lake Couchiching
near Orillia for two weeks this summer. Not only did they improve their athletic skills and
develop new ones but they also learned how to teach these skills, run meetings and set
athletic associations in order to help -out -with the athletie prograin at G.D.C.I. Joni is the
daughter of Tom and Betty Thompson. She attended camp from July 4-17. Jon is the son of

teaching and transferred to Brookside
School this year. Last year she taught at
Holmesville. She is married and has no
