Kathleen O'Keefe; daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph O'Keefe, King's e Benmiller United Church was the scene of a pretty gust wedding on the 19th at 6 p.m. when Douglas John ith of Hensall and Martha Joanne Baer of Benmiller re united in marriage. The groom is the son of Wayne and Marlene Smith of nsall. The bride is the daughter of Frank and Kay erof Benmiller. The Reverend Ralph King of Goderich officiated at the uble ring ceremony. Miss Darlene Jewell provided the usic. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She re a long white dress which featured a rounded ckline and puffed sleeves of swiss dot over taffeta. She o wore a large white brimmed hat and carried a segay of yellow roses and white carnations. Mrs. Debbie Ducharme, sister of the groom, of Hensall s bridesmaid. She was dressed identically to the maid honor. Groomsman was Steve Knight of Hensall. Kevin Baer Benmiller was usher. Following the wedding a smorgasbord dinner was held the home of the bride's parents. Paul Dalton, son of Mrs. Mark Dalton is attending George Brown Coll ge of Applied Arts and Techgology, Toronto taking an 8 week Apprenticeship course in Steamfitting. BRIDAL SHOWER Approximately 35 people attended a bridal shower for Miss Angie Kazikowski on Saturday evening, September 10 at the home --of Mrs. Jack Farrish of Ashfield Township. The chairlady, Mrs. Nancy Swan welcomed everyone, and asked each lady to give her name and introduce herself to the new bride as she is new to this community. Two readings were done by Mrs. Nancy Swan.' Two contests were' played where you unscrambted the letters to "Find Things You Take On A Honeymoon" and "Things You Find In The Kitchen". Winners of both contests were Mrs. Brenda Wylds and Mrs. Brenda Cook. The address to the bride was read by Mrs. Ina Farrish. Winner of the lucky draw was Mrs. Marie Hoy. Angie's marriage to Donald Rae Farrish, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Farrish will take place in Kitchener on Saturday, October 1. The dinner and an open reception will be held at the Ripley complex following, the wedding. SOCIAL NEWS A special welcome is given to Russell and Donna Tulk whose children Douglas and Steven are attending school at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic school in Ki brill ..is in Kindergareten and Steven is in Grade 1; to. Charles and Jane Cauchi whose son Chris is attending St. Joseph's school at Kingsbridge and is in Grade 1; and to Martin and Annette LeBreton whose son Marcial started classes in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic school, Kingsbridge. Herman Riegling of Leth- bridge, Alberta spent a week's holidays in this area visiting with his parents Mr, and Mrs. Carl Riegling and other relatives and friends. LEGION HALL TICKETS 9,00 DANCE TO FOLLOW F Congratulations to• the Kingsbridge Girls' baseball team, Dalton's Dollies who won the championship of their league_,'Wednesday,_. August 31st saw the Kintail Kuties and the Dalton's Dollies meet in the Cham- pionship baseball final. Both teams were very closely matched. Kingsbridge (Da.bton's Dollies) had finished the season in first place and Kintail Kuties after a poor start early in the season made an excellent comeback defeating their competition in the playoffs. The score was close throughout the game. The. first batter, Jean Vogt gave the Dollies an impressive start with a home run. However, many other flies were cangL,lt by the Kintail outfield. Finally back to back homers by Donna Frayne and Donna Drennan swung things in the Dollies' favor. The final score was Dalton's Dollies 13, Kintail Kuties 10. Winning pitcher was Bonnie Bowler. The girls would like to thank their coaches Tom Sinnett and Jim VanOsch. They would also like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Mike Dalton for the - barbecue and the trophy they so kindly donated. Thanks also - - goes- to• the Vogts for the refreshments they sup- plied after the game at their restaurant.
