to hold car wash
The Circle -City C.B. Club
opened its September 11
meeting with a roll call of
thirty present. A welcome
was given to the two new
members that evening.
Following roll call the
secretary's "Highballer"
(Bob Reynolds) and
treasurer's 'eudd-Ies"
(Cathy Rieck) reports were
read.
President, Uncle Tom
(Tom Gillis), read several
letters; one of which was
from Mr. J. Banks, ad
ministrator of Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital
thanking the club for the $350
donation made to • the
Childreiis Wing last month.

Kaminska) was thanked by
the executive for a job well
done organizing fellow
members during the Sky -
Diving Jamboree for security
and emergency services.
Many members as well as
non-members of the club did
a terrific job during the long
weekend and the Circle -City
C.B. Club wishes to thank
each and everyone of you.
Your help was greatly ap-
preciated!

The social club will be
holding a car wash this
Saturday, September 17 at
Prouse's Garage at the five
points, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.nl.
The cost •will be $1x00 per ear:
Proceeds are to go to com-
munity projects,

he read it).

Harbor report
On August 29 the Ajgosea
arrived light from Sarnia for
a load of salt. The Algosea
cleared harbor on August 30
for Botwood,New fotandland,
On September 2 the Prindoc
arrived light from Cleveland
for a load of salt, The Prindoc
cleared harbor the same day
for BotwoodNewfoundland.
The Agawa Canyon arrived
at Goderich harbor on Sep-
tember 4 from Detroit for a
load of salt. It cleared harbor
the same day for Alpeana and
St. Ignace, Michigan.
On September 6 The
Richard J. Reiss arrived in
Goderich from Toledo for a
73's
We're clear.
load of salt. The ship cleared
harbor.on September 7 for St.
_Joseph Island.
Also on September 6, the
Peirson Daughters arrived in
Goderich Harbor from Toledo
with corn. The ship cleared
harbor on September 9 and
headed light for Thunder
Bay.
The Algorail arrived Tight
for salt from 'Bay City on
September 8, and cleared
harbor on September 9for
Alpeana, Michigan, Also on
September 9 the Franquelin
grain " boat arrived from
Thunder Bay. It cleared
harbor light on September 11,
after being delayed by
weather.

the last inning as Lori Keller
knocked in Cathy Sturdy. The
Diamonds reversed the scene
in the second game by slip-
ping past the Superstars in
similar fashion winning 11-10
With a run in the last inning.
But the ' Superstars
rebounded to take the
deciding game of the series
on the strength of three
homeruns by Cathy Sturdy,
Connie Faulkiner and Colleen
Straughan.
The Superstars broke up a
close game scoring nine runs
in the final two innings.
Keller led the offense with
four hits while team-mates
Dawn Westbrook, Judy
Draper, Dale Oke, land
shading Blue's Diamonds 2-1 Carilyn McGee chipped in
in games in the quarter final with three hits apiece.

This coming Sunday will
mark the final race in the
series of Sunday Sailing,
Races' run by the Goderich
Sailing Club this past sum-
mer. A total of ,twelve
scheduled races have been
held, as well as three large
regattas in which over '80
boatscompeted; a
"Sesquicentennial Regatta"
held on the July first
weekend, and a "Round -up
Regatta" held on the Labour
Day weekend. Because of the
„work of the Race committee,f
members,. Club Executive
and others, all of these events
have been successful, well
run races. They have been

The Clinton Junior "C"
hockey Mustangs are set to go
for the new season, and as
their first step, open their
training camp next Tuesday
night, at 7:30 pm at Vanastra.
All interested junior aged
hockey players are invited to
attend, says Danny
Colquhoun, the New coach
this year.
Colquhoun will be assisted
by last year's coach, Bill
Weber.
Larry Daw remains as
manager, as no replacement
was found.
The Stangs open their
regular season in Kincardine
on October 9, and open at
home on October 14,
The Stangs training camp
will only he at Vanastra until
Septembers 24. and then
moves to Mitchell arena until
October 3, when ice is ex-
pected to be in at Clinton,
Clinton will face teams
from Kincardine, Walkerton,
Hanover, and Listowel.

ticipants, and, undoubtedly,
by all of the 'spectators that
have watched from the many
vantage points along the
Goderich shore -line. We hope
that some of those spectatdrs
will turn out to he sailors
themselves and will consider
becoming Sail Club members
in the near future.

by each of the top three
