Around the club house one hears such remarks- as "next year I'll practice," and "maybe a lesson or two would help." Ladies' Night last week saw thirty-five women out. First., flight was won by Marie Huff, putting went to Shetagh Sully; Second flight was won by Verna Worthy, Jean Klight, Janet Gemmill, Jean Hanly, Verna Jackson, and E. Smith, putts ; third flight was won by Dianne Morrissey, Bertha McGee, and Gail Bettger, putts; special flight was won by Joanne Jasper, Beth Eveleigh, Lynn Edward, Martina Schneiker, and Berith Jessop, putts. The longest drive on number 7 hole went to Lillian Kelly; Verna Jackson was closest to the pin on number one hole. The ladies' section of 'the Maitland held their' closing Championship Day on Sep- tember 10. High winds. resulted in 'high sco es; even so, a record nuni-ber7of ladies enjoyed the well -organized day. The Club. Championship Trophy was won by M.C. Lassaline, runner-up was Doris Paquette; winner of the Rose Bowl -Trophy was A rdith Brissette, runner-up was Doris_ _P.a.quct.tc Morrissey captured the Maitland. Trophy, with Bud Elliott runner-up. The ladies' Scotch 2 -Ball was taken this year by the team of Shetagh Sully and Dianne Morrissey, runners-up being Delia 13edard and Grace Neville. The,, Mrs. Bruce "I'rop)ay, awarded to the lady who lowers her handicap the most, was presented to Joan McDougall by Mrs. Bruce. This year a new trophy was in play - the Mini Ruse flowl,'t'or those girls in the special flight. The winner of this was Gail Bettger•; with Berith Jessop runner-up.
