MR. AND MRS. BRIAN WESTBROOK
Wed In Clinton
St. Paul's Anglican Church in Clinton was the setting,
on June 25 for the summer wedding of Kathryn May
Murphy and Brian John Westbrook, with Rev. Stanley
Sharples officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Joseph Murphy and
the late Mr. Joseph Murphy of Clinton and the groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Westbrook, RR 2, Clinton.
The bridal attendants were Miss Jean Falconer, Mrs.
Ruth Percy and Mrs. Jan Fuller. Misses Adrienne Percy
and Angela Reid; nieces of the bride, wereflowergirls.
Attending the groom were Eric McLeod, Bill Murphy
and Mark Westbrook.
Following the ceremony, the wedding dinner was
served by the ladies of St. Paul's Anglican Church in the
Parish Hall. A reception followed at the Murphy family

into honor society

Goderich recently received
the Bachelor of Arts degree
from Tennessee Temple
College, an extension of
Deathe in
top place
A. Weerasooriya and Barry
Deathe scored 771/2 points to
grab top spot in the North -
south section of play at the
August 23 meeting of the
Goderich Bridge Club. There
were 71/2 tables in play.
Evelyn Galbraith and
Dawna Sproule took second
place with 76 points and were
followed by Barb McLaughlin
and Sally Rowbottom, 74
points and Sam Hassan and
Larry Sloan with 721/2 points.
Jean Papernick and Mary
Lapaine edged the team of
Lee Ryan and Bill Bradley by
a 1/2 point to win the East -west
section of play. The Paper -
nick and Lapaine team
scored 871/2 points while Ryan
and, Bradley picked up 87
-points. Pat Stringer and
Cathy MacDonald were third
with 83 points and Sandra Orr
and Bill Duncan finished with
67 points.
Tennessee Temple Schools in
Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Sharon was one of 48
students to be inducted into
the Alpha Epsilon Theta
Honor Society. Sharon ob-
tained a 2.79 grade point
average out of a possible 3.0.
grade point average. A 2.25
grade average is required for
acceptance into the honor
society.
Miss Brubacher is the
daughter of Rev. and Mrs.
Reuben Brubacher of •
Goderich and is a graduate of
Goderich District Collegiate
Institute. Sharon is also a
former member of Calvary
Baptist Church.
'Sharon was one of 550
students to receive a diploma
from Dr. Lee Roberson,
chancellor and founder of the
Independent Baptist in-
stitution.

Two floor candelabras and- altar flowers of white'
gladiolas, yellow daisies and baby's breath decorated St.
George's Anglican Charch on Saturday, August 6 at 4
p.m.. for ^the wedding of Tony Harvey Vollick and
Catherine Gay Rleck.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Larry Rieck
of Goderich and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
George Vollick of Goderich.
The Reverend Robert J. Crocker' officiated at the
double ring ceremony. Stephen Rieck, brother of the
bride was organist and accompanist to Mrs. Jean Smith
who splayed, two I violin; solos.
The bride was Riven in marriage by her parents. She
wore a Tori -Lee gown of silk organza. It featured a low
neckline with full length bouffant sleeves, empire
waistline, full bodice and full A-line skirt falling into a
cathedral train. The gown was accented with seed pearls
and caprice lace. She also wore a daisy caprice lace
Juliet cap with fingertip French silk illusion veil.
Maid of honor was Barbara Shelton of Goderich. She
wore a yellow sleeveless gown with empire waistline,
fitted bodice, full A-line skirt and small shoulder cape.
The gown and cape featured tiny floral patterned white
lace trimming. She carried yellow and white daisies,
baby's breath, yellow ribbon hangings and lily of the
valley. She wore a small floral arrangement in her hair.
Bridesmaids were Pat Denomme of Goderich and
Eileen Vollick, sister of the groom of Goderich. They
wore dresses the same as the maid of honor's and carried
floralbouquets of white daisies, lily of the valley and
baby's breath with yellow ribbon and streamer hangings.
Flower girl was Debbie Snider, cousin of the bride.of
Waterloo. Her dress was the same as the bridesmaids'
dresses except it featured small puffed sleeves and lace
trimming. She carried a small basket of white daisies,
lily of the the valley and baby's breath.
Groomsman was Joseph Dumigan of Goderich. Ushers
were Al Milburn of Goderich and Brian Manderson,
cousin''of the groom, of Kitchener. Ringbearer was
Gregory Snider, cousin of the bride,of Waterloo.
Following the wedding', a reception was held at the
White Carnation in Holmesville. It was decorated with
two floor candelabras set to each end of head table.
The bride's mother greeted guests in a mint green
fitted lace covered bodice and A-line skirt. She also wore
a full length lace fitted coat fastened at the waist. She
wore a white orchid corsage.
The groom's mother chose a sleeveless, full princess
style floral polyester dress with beige background and a
corsage of white roses,
For a wedding trip to Kingston and Niagara Falls, the
bride changed to a yellow linen -like fabric three piece
suit.
Mr. and Mrs. Vollick will reside at R.R. 5 Goderich.
Prior to the wedding, a miscellaneous shower was
given for the bride by Barb Shelton alid Patti Denomme
at the Denomme residence. A miscellaneous shower Was
also given by' Mrs. Joyce Pinkney and Mrs. ''Beth
Anderson' at the Pinkney residence. It was attended -by
neighbours and friends.
Guests attended the wedding rrom Newfoundland,,_
England, Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton, Glenmorris,
London, Galt, Kitchener, Waterloo, Mildmay, Hanover,
Brucefield and Clinton.
