The double ring ceremony was performed by Father A.
Van Rooy of Holland assisted by -Father Ed Dentinger of
Kingsbridge, Reverend Ralph *King of Goderich and
Father Aim Lammermire of Chatham.
Music was provided by Marie Boyle of St-. Augustine,
Dianne Stapleton of Dublin, and John Creces of Zurich.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She
wore a floor length A-line gown and long train made of
delicate sea -pearl satin. The bodice and short sleeves
were accented with sheer lace. She wore a long cathedral
length, three tiered veil edged with tiny daisy lace which
fell from a delicate arrangement of three tiny white baby
roses and baby's breath. She carried a cascade
arrangement of white roses.
Maid of honor was Mary Van Rooy of Kingsbridge. She
wore a floor length, A-line, round neckline, solid peach
colored dress of satin polyester with a sheer floral peach
and yellow short cape which served as sleeves andcollar.
She carried a bouquet of yellow, white and peach daisies,
carnations and baby's breath.
Bridesmaids were Diane, Frances and Teresa Van

Groomsman was Jim Reaburn of -Vancouver, British
Columbia. Ushers were Joe and Henry Van Rooy of
Kingsbridge and Earl Reaburn of-Goderich. Ringbearer
was Paul Van Rooy of Kingsbridge,'
Following the wedding, a receptionwas held in the
Goderich Legion Hall. Thebride's mother greeted guests
in a pale yellow' floor length V-neck gown made of
polyester satin with flowers embossed in the material.
She wore a corsage of rusty orange roses.
The groom's mother wore a pale mint green floor
le.ngth wrap around sleeveless dress of polyester satin
with V -neckline. She were a corsage of yellow roses.
For a wedding trip to Ottawa, Calabogie and Quebec
City, the bride changed to a three-piece cream colored
skirt suit with brown accessories and shoes. She wore a
corsage of yellow, orange and white carnations and
daisies.
Mr.
and Mrs. Reaburn will reside in London.
Guests were present at the -wedding from Holland,
Vancouver, Winnipeg, and surrounding district,
Chapeau, Ottawa, Mississauga, Detroit, Chatharn,
Elora, London and surrounding area.

CARNEY
• Edward (Ted) A. Carney of
104 Montcalm Street,
Goderich died -in Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital
on August 24 after a lengthy
illness. He was 69 years old.
He was born in Colborne
Township on April 28, 1908 to
Pauline- (Glasscott) and
Michael Carney. He had lived
in ,Goderich since 1952. He
was a conductor with the
C.P.R. He was a member of
St. *Peter's Roman Catholic
Church in Goderich.
• On July 14, 1940 he arried
• Germaine Jean Br nelle in
Kitchener. He is su vived by
his wife; one son Michael of
• St. Marys and four sisters,
Mrs. Loretta Murray of
Windsor, Mrs. Josephine
Marriott of Goderich, Mrs.
Casey Reid of Goderich and
Mrs. Martin (Peggy) Kellner
of Toronto.
The late Mr. Carney rested
at Stiles Funeral Horne. The
Reverend .Father A. F.
Loebach conducted a funeral
service at St. Peter's Roman
Catholic Church on Saturday,
August 27 at 11 a.m.
• Interment was in St.
Peter's Cemetery in Colborne
Township.
Pallbearers were • teonard

Wally Westbrook, Jack
• Marriott, James Dempsey
and.Harold Burr.
Honorary bearers were Joe
O'Brien„ G. 'Flanagan and Joe
Kinsella.
MRS. ERICA
FRANCES THORBURN
Erica Frances Thorburn of
114 Britannia Road West,
Goderich died suddenly in
Belleville General Hospital
on August 22 at the age of 58.
She was born on June 18,
1919 in England to Ethel
(Moody) and Arthur Mat-
tison.
On May .18, 1946 she
married Robert Keith
Thorburn in England,
Following her marriage she
lived in Kintail until moving
toGoderich about two months
ago.
She was a member of St.
George's Anglican Church.
She is survived by her
husband; one son, Barry cf,
Toronto; two daughters,
Janice of 1-lamilton and
Karen at home; one brother,
Peter Mattison of England;
and two sisters, Miss Gwyn
Mattison and Mrs. Harry
(Floris) Appleton, both of
England.
A funeral service was held
_
on Friday, August 26 at 4 p.m.
at Stiles Funeral Home. The
Reverend Robert J. Crocker
conducted the service.
Interment was in the
Maitland Cemetery,
Pallbearers were Jim
Skeoch, Ben Sheardown,
George Bacon and Carl
Worsen.
ROBERTE. RUTLEDGE
Robert Elwin Rutledge died
suddenly after a short illness
in St. Petersburg General
Hospital in Florida on August
13, 1977 in his 79th year.
He tvas born in Auburn
August 25, 1898 to the late
Robert E. and Hilda
(Pearson) Rutledge. Later he
moved to Detroit where he
was employed and resided for
several years prior to moving
to Florida.
He is survived by his wife,
MA udie (Thompson); one
son, Eugene of St. Peter-
sburg; three grandchildren
and one great-grandchild;
also one sister, irrs. Fred
(Laura) Wagner ;of Auburn.
He was predeceased by

another sister, Mrs. Everett
(Veina) Taylor.
Funeral service was -held
on Wednesday, August ,17
from Maney-Burrell and
Turowski Funeral' Home in
Livonia, ,Michigan with in-
terment in Parkview

August 23 at St. Michael's
Hospital in Toronto at the age
of 47.
He was born on July 4, 1930
in Ashfield Township to Olive
Irene (Fowler)' and William
George Bepia,min. He moved
to Toronto about 3(Tyears ago
and was residing at 10 •
Esterbrook Avenue,
Willowdale, Ontario at the
time of his death.
He was a member of the
Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife,
the former Karen Sand; two
sons, Garth William and
Gerald John both at home;
his mother, Mrs. Olive Irene
Benjamin of Weston; and two
sisters, Mrs. Shirley
Winkelmann of Toronto and
Mrs. Willard (Lu) Legg of
, Goderich.
A funeiql service was held
at the Turner and Porter,
•Yorke Chapel in Toronto on
Friday, August 26 at 1 p.m.
Another funeral service was
held at Stiles Funeral Home
in Goderich on Saturday
August 27 at 1 p.m. with the
Reverend G. L. Royal of-
ficiating.
Interment was in Colborne
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bob
Legg, Eugene Ryan, Donald
Fowler, Harold Johnston,
Gordon (Sam) Beadle and
Martin Sand.

Gordon Douglas Mohring of

died on August 23 in Clinton
Public Hospital at the age of
48.
, He was bOrn in Goderich on
March 22, 1929, to Lillian
(Berryman) and Roy
Mohring. He was a life long
resident of Goderich and
' worked as an assistant
superintendent ,at the
Goderich Elevators. He was a
member of St. Georgej
Anglican Church.

On November 5, 1950; he
married Marilyn June Beadle
in Clinton. He is survived by
his wife; two sons, Douglas
and Jim, both of Dungannon;
three daughters, Mrs.
Douglas (Shirley) Stoll of RR
5 Goderich and Brenda and
Trudy, both at home; his
mother, Mrs: Lillian Slim-
mers of Goderich; five
brothers, Bert, John and Bob,
all of Goderich, and Lorne
and Bill, both of London; five
sisters, Mrs. Gordon (Donna)
Watson of Oakville, Mrs. Pon
(Lucille) Glen of Richmond
Hill, Mrs. Tony (Mona) Knox
of Thorold, Mrs. Pat Walker
of Vanastra and Mrs. Roy
(Joan) Bowen of Goderich;
and four grandchildren.
He was predeceased by one
daughter.
