Also, there were 152 entries in the tournament, and the fact that everything went smoothly is a pat on the back far the main organizers - Paul, Shirley and Pat. Low 'gross of the day went to Gary Douglas from St. • Mary's, with a score of 66. Low net of the day was Bill Fraser of Indian Hills Golf Club, with a score of 61. For first flight, tow gross was Bill Bradley of Maitland. Low net was Harry Murray from London. Aubrey James from Listowel was low gross for second flight and Brian Reeve from Sunset was low net. For third flight, low gross was Lee Kirkwood from Maitland and low net was Vic Richardson from. Durham. Two Bayfield golfers were the winners , in- fourth flight. Derek Devok was low gross and TimtNest was low net. On Sunday, August 28, there was a two -ball party, which included golf, followed by a box social. Rod Johnston and Robert Green were the winners of the ,day, followed by Tracy Willows and Stan Connelly. Paul Dockstader and Ev Evers were third. The next two ball party is on Monday September 5. Brunch is at 1 p.m. sharp, with golf to follow. For Men's Night, Milt Place was low gross and Bruce Crawford was low net. Dennis Lassaline and Rick added two more in the fifth on successive doubles by Brian Stothers, Johnston and Ron Whetstone, Durnin and Westbrook scored their final two runs in the sixth inning. The Firemen rallied for four rung in their final at bat on the strength of a grand slam by Wayne Doak. The Beavers now await the winner of the other semi-final series between the Signal - Star Paper Leafs and BP- TMF, which is tied at one game apiece. The deciding game of that series was played Wednesday night. The Leafs won the opening game of the series 9-3 but BPTMF rebounded for a 12-5 victory to even things up. In the first game the Leafs scored two runs in the first inning, added three more in the second inning and then rounded out the scoring with four in the sixth. BPTMF scored single runs in the first, third and sixth innings. .. BPTMF took control of the second game from the start as theyexploded for eight' runs in the first inning and coasted toa 12-5 victory. The Leafs were unable to recover from that early deficit but managed to score, three runs in the second in- ning and singles in the third and seventh innings Spwerby'were the winnertt tall first flight. Gary shot a low gross of 66 to capture the Labatt's trophy, He is congratulated by Paul Baechler (loft), owner of Sunset Golf Course and by Labatt's representative Neil McLeod. Over 150 men competed in the tournament which had to be "held a week later than originally planned because the course had been flooded by excessive rain.
