Windsurfing Is one of the newest and fastest growing
sports today. Windsurfers are part sailors, part water-
skiers and part surfers. Here Evert Middel of Goderich,
whose family operates the Bluewater Windsurfing
dealership, shows hqw it's done. It took him two days
before he could keep his balance on the wobbly craft
when he was first learning. Re says windsurfing is the
coming thing, lots of fun and "you don't need gas." (staff

Neil MacTavish (centre) "Inserts a daggerboard through the hull of a win-
dsurfer craft in order to give it directional control. The craft consists of a
surfboard with a sail on it that can rotate 369 degrees. Windsurfing is the
coming thing according to Evert Middel (right) whose family has the
Bluewater Windsurfing dealership serving the area between Kincardine
and Grand Bend. Middel was teaching MacTavish and Bob Howison (left)
how to manoeuvre the craft. Windsurfers can be rented for 620 a day or
purchased for 6795. (staff photo)
