Fisher Custom Builders blew a five run lead and were edged by Canada Company 6- 5 in extra innings in Industrial League action recently. A win for the Builders would have put them in sole possession of second place in the Maitland Division of the league. The Builders built up a five run margin across the first six innings but the Company got those back in one rally in the bottom of the sixth. Jim Bell singled in the first and scored on a double by Jim, Durst. Two pass balls allowed Durst to score giving the Builders a 2-0 edge. Doug Fisher singled to start the third inning and moved to second on a sacrifice by Bell. Durst caught a single and scored Fisher making it 3-0. John Hoy made it four in the fourth when he walked, moved to second on a pass ball and scored on a single by Doug Smith. Bell ,scored again in the fifth when he singled, moved to third on two pass balls and beat the return throw to the plate after Gerry Durst grounded out. The Company started to roll in the sixth and didn't stop until .they tied it. Mike Palmer doubled to start the burst and Bob Dick waited out a walk. (staff photo) + - Hockey coaches to attend area clinics For the first time, all minor hockey coaches from squirt to juvenile must have level 1 of the National Certification program, according to a press release from Dianne Grove, secretary manager of the Western -Ontario Athletic Association. In order to train coaches for the Certification program, which goes up to- Level 5, the WOAA is planning a series of clinics during September. The WOAA has tentatively se{ the first clinic for Kin- cardine on September 14 at 8 p.m. in the high school. ' co0©©©©0,0000©©0 Other clinics are planned at Seaforth on September 20 at 8 p.m. at the high school, and the other clinic will be held on September 28 in the Formosa school also beginning at 8 p.m. Tr -changes in the clinic schedule are made by the hockey tgchnical directors office, then corrected dates will be announced on CKNX.
