Langlois, Arn Parker and Duncan`delivered the key hits with successive doubles and Dave McIvor chipped in with a run scoring triple. Catcher Rick Duckworth, Langlois and Duncan led the Ziebart 12 hit barrage with two hits apiece and they also scored two runs each. Tom O'Brien was the only Canada Company batsman to touch Langlois for two hits while five other players had one hit apiece. Langlois gave up'seven hits in picking up the decision while Ziebart tagged losing, pitcher for 12 hits. Both teams resume action tonight as Ziebart battles Fishers at 7:15 p.m. and Canada Company will play French Cleaners at 8:45. (staff photo) rindley defeats French Br"fndley 'Transport came up with one of their strongest efforts of the season as they dumped Maitland Division rivals French Dry Cleaners 7- 4 in Industrial League play at Agriculture Park Sunday. The, Brindley defense came up with one of their stingiest performances of the season and kept French batters off the bases for four straight innings. They then withstood a two -run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning to claim the win. French scored one run 1n the bottom of the first inning as Brian McLean reached first on an'error advanced to third on passed balls and scored on George Sutton's single. Brindley capitalized on walks and errors to score three runs in their half of the first inning on two walks and an error combined with timely hits. Bruce Bowman, John Verway ' and Henry Kolkman scored the Brindley runs. John McGinnis got one -run back for French in the bottom of the second inning but Brindley scored single runs in the third and'fourth inning for a 5-2 lead going into the last frame. Brindley scored two more runs in the seventh on hits by Louis Yount, Fred Shoemaker and Mark Ker- nihan to increase their lead to • French managed two more runs in a modest rally in their final at bat. Wayne Kennedy was hit by a pitch and scored on Sutton's triple. Sutton then scored on a Bill Gallow single before Verway got Harmon to fly out. Kolkman, Yount, Schneider and Kernihan .led the Brin- dley offense with two hits apiece. Sutton belted two of French's five hits including the run -scoring triple. Verway gave up five hits in collecting the win while Gallow was tagged for eight hits in the loss. McGee's edge Little B w1 5-4 McGee, s Pontiacs capitalized on two- wild pit- ches and a sacrifice fly by Ron Sowerby to score a single run in the final inning to edge Little Bowl 5 - 4 in Industrial league play at Agriculture Park, Sunday. Little Bowl pitcher John Crawford gave up seven inning singles to Doug Spitzig and Rick Sowerby and allowed the runners to ad- vance into scoring position on two wild pitches. Ron Sowerby then flied to centre scoring Spitzig from third base for the winning run. Little Bowl led early in the game on the strength of a two - run first inning home run by Glen Falkiner. ' The blast scored Ron Ritchie who led off the inning with a single. McGees countered with four runs in the top of the second inning as they tagged Crawford for four hits. John Phillips, Wayne Doak, Harry Kerr and Paul Kelly all scored runs for the Pontiacs., Little Bowl narrowed the margin in their half of the third inning, on a run scoring triple by Bill Black that scored Ritchie from third. Black again provided the offensive punch as he tied the game with a solo home run in the fifth inning. But Crawford's wild .pit- ches led to winning run in the top of the seventh inning for McGee's and winning pitcher Rick Sowerby retired the side in the bottom of the seventh. Spttzig and Rick Sowerby led the McGee attack with three hits each in four trips to the plate.
