New record set on Maitland course
BY JEAN HANLY
Last week Paul Johnston
and pile Ed Rowe set a new
record for the Maitland
Country Club course as it is
now, with the new number
one and number six. Both
men shot a 65. Paul turned in,
a 31-34 and Ed 32-33, recor-
ding six birdies in a row!
Something to shoot for, the
rest of you golfers!
Recently, Ed Rowe with
John Kane of Maitland and
two members from the
Stratford G.C., won the
MacDonald Pro -Am on the
first hole of a sudden death
play-off, after being tied with
11 under 60's.
Twenty-four couples played
in the annual Air Canada
Tournament on Saturday,
August 6. The weatherman
co-operated throughout the
afternoon and into the
evening when a number of
golfers enjoyed a boat -ride.
Many thanks to Allan
MacDonald for making
possible a most enjoyable
evening.

three runs in the fifth inning
and tied the game with two
runs in the sixth inning.

go-ahead run in the seventh
inning. Todd Graham of
