These children taking" part in the Knox Presbyterian
church Vacation Bible School put together a singing act
they entertained the congregation with on ,Sunday. The
children, just part of those attending the school, used some
of their time during the week to practice and here usesome
of the props in a rehearsal. The singers are (front row from

She lay' in a hospital heti. She seemed to have shri-
velled. the sparkle that had gained so roans friends over
so nrtliv years had almost gone.
:1 week before, she had her second operation for
cancer. Iter doctor didn't want to do it. Ile ,did she
had no chance. It was smatter 0'f lime_
13th She [lac! a tremendous will to live. Not so much
for herself. But for her brother. a Wisp of a man. who
had no other family left. \lid for her friends.
w1tonl she had shared so much of herself of'er'sn mans
years.
She needed all of that will to live, Within the week.
she had to have two more operations. one of then) an
emergency. tier doctor was away with his t;ttnils
celebrating a holiday, when Ile Marl 11.1 he tlno'n hark

her.
Now she's sewn up across her stomach. and lip bei

Just before the emergency operation she thought
1 small rift that she could send to a friuid. She asked

Then he found a small girl (or her. There's not
much you call give a person trcnlhling at iiic edge of
de.alh's cliff. But Ile found something
Years before. she wrote an article shops her beloved
collct'tion of hells. I ittle hells. Bells of malt shapes
and sounds: each one with its own significance. its
own meaning. '
But Ihe,last time she moved. the hells disappeared.
No one knew where. or how. fn. why.

debris still haunting the corncls of the attic and the
storage cupboards, he found one hell. One small silver
hell.
He took it to the hospital. And as she I;it with the
transfusion dripping into one area. the intravenous

write. her eyes too blurred from the ache of three

Area woman dies
Mrs. Donna Jane Sinclair of
Goderich Tolvnship died on
Wednesday, July 27 in
University Hospital in
London after a lengthy
illness. She was 47 years of
age.
She was born on December
8, 1929 in Orford Township to
Elizabeth (McPhail) and
Charles Richardson.
On June 17, 1950 she
married Claude S. Sinclair in
Orford Township. Following
her marriage she lived in
Dawn Township until coming
to Goderich in 1958.
She was a member of the
First Baptist Church in
Goderich.
She is survived by her
husband; two sisters, Mrs.
Victor (Mary) Sinclair of
Chatham and Mrs. William
R. (Anne) White of Florence;
one brother', Charles of
Thamesville; four sons,
William of Palmerston,
Robert of Holmesville,
Thomas of Lucknow and John
of Amberly and three
grandchildren.
A funeral service was held
at Stiles Funeral Home on
Saturday, July 30 at 3:30 p.m.
The service was conducted by
Rev. W.H. McWhinnie.
Interment was in the
Maitland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gerry
Ginn, Bill Chase, Ken
Holmes, John Westbrook,
Jim Young and Ben Whitely..
Flower bearers were Bill
Wilton, Ray Bush, Harold
Wettlaufer and Robert
Wilson.

their Grade One Royal
Conservatory of Music piano
exams with honors recently.
The two, taught by Diane
Herlufsen, passed the exams
after two years of lessons.
There are 10 grades in the
Conservatory program.
Sharon Carrigan and
daughter Tara of Ottawa
visited Doug and Gail Currie
and family, and other friends
and relatives to enjoy the
Sesquicentennial. Sharon's
father Albert McClinchey of
Ottawa visited in the region
with friends and relatives:

Toronto; one daughter, Mrs.
Earl (Phyllis) Banas of
Toronto; six grandchildren,
Mrs. Brant (Edna) Coleman;
Robert, Mrs. David (Phyllis
Ann) MacDonald,Donna,
Helen and Jimmy; and one
great-granddaughter,
Shannon Lee MacDonald.
Funeral service took place
at Stiles. Funeral Home on
Saturday, July 30 at 2 p.m.
