a walk to load the bases for
Hoy's shot. Kerr scored the
final Pontiac run in the
bottom of the seventh when
he singled, moved down on a
sacrifice and scored from
second on Rick ' Sowerby's

win while Rick Sowerby was
touched eight times and
fanned three in the losing

districts with an average of
ten clubs to each district and
a total ladies' and men's
membership of ap-
proximately 12,000 members.

The city of Edmonton has
recently constructed a
beautiful new lawn bowling
facility of 20 regulation rinks
with plenty of comfortable
seating arrangements en-
compassing the 20 rinks.
Each'year a different city is
chosen fort the•- Canadian
Fi als. In 1976 the city was
Ottawa, in 1975 it was Van-
couver and in 1974 it was
Winnipeg. Halifax may be the
host for 1978.
All contestants receive an
alb: <eXpenst. -paid
Canadian ' Finals and each
Provincial Association takes
care of travel expenses for
their respective finalists.
The Ontario Association
was the first province to
encourage young new
bowlers, aimed at the age
group 18 years and under, or
over 18 but less than 5 years
lawn bowling experience. Itis
hoped that the other

bowling tournament was held
at the Goderich lawn bowling

There were bowlers' from
Clinton, Exeter, Lucknow,
Mitchell, St. Mary s,
Seaforth, Stratford and
Wingham.
The tournament was
named in honor of Fred
Richardson of the Goderich
lawn bowling club. He was
the driving force behind the
improvement of club

single, stealing second, going
to third on a wild pitch and

the bottom of the sixth when
he doubled Phil Turner in

single and caught Bell trying
to score from second.
Simon Langlois was the
losing pitcher giving up nine
hits and striking out 10 bat-
ters. Jim Martin got the win
giving up seven hits and
fanning three.
