Mable McKnight, 83, of
Picton Street in Goderich got
one of the biggest thrills. of
her life when she was' chosen
Jubilee 3 Queen at the
Octogenarian' Picnic on
Wednesday, July 6..

be one," said Mrs. McKnight
who was picked from a box of
hopefuls and crowned by
Jubilee 3 committee chair-
man Mac Campbell in
Saltford Valley Hall. �y
"You have to live to be 83 to_
be a queen," she said.
Mrs. McKnight was born on..._.
April 10, 1894 in Byron,
Ontario. Her maiden name
was- Cassady. ,In 191.3 she
married_Wiiliarh McKnight in
Edmonton, Alberta: She lived
in Ashfield Township for
awhile and moved to
Goderich about six years ago.
Mrs. McKnight has die son
and one daughter, three

grandchildren and threa;-
g 'eat -grandchildren.. She

Orange. Walk Saturday
Plans for the traditional
Orange Walk to be held in
Bayfield on July 16 were
finalized at a committee
meeting in Varna on July 5.
The celebration, sponsored
by the lodges of South Huron,
includes the county lodges of
Esse2 , Kent, Lambton,
Middlesex -Elgin, West
Bruce, North and South Perth
as well as North and South
Huron.
A speaker's platform will
be erected in Clan Gregor
Square and ,the .speaking will
precede the parade.
Main speaker will be the
Rev. S. Bell of Wheatley. M'r.
Bell was a tamber of
Woodham L.O.L. while he,
served as• rector of Kirkton
Anglican Church.
The parade will leave the
Square at approximately 2
p.m. _It will proceed past the
Senior Citizens' apartment
and return to the Square by
Main Street.
The parade will be followed
by a fife- and drum, com-
petition.
, The Bayfield Lions Club in
co-operationwith the County
Lodge will hold a number of
events at the arena and
fairgrounds. Included will be
a refreshment booth, rides for
children, a ladies' softball
tournament and a dance to be
held at night.
