'11ctitland Division first baseman Gerry Durst got caught at the plate in last week's
Industrial League Ail -Star game when he tried to score fromnthird on a single. Durst, the
~carting,• first baseman for Fisher Builders, is tagged by Dunlop catcher Dave Patterson of
Little Bowl. Maitland Division won the game 16-5smacking out five home runs in eight

Rick Sowerby put the
Pontiacs on the hoard when
he heat out an error to single,
moved down on Paul Kelly's
single and scored On ;a hit by
Ken Mcriam. McGee took a 5-
4 lead it the third when they
earned two runs and Glen
Tigert walked in two. Ken
Daer led off the inning with a
double and scored on a double
by Ron Sowerby. Sowerby
tried to :stretch the hit into a
triple hut wa's gunned down
by O'Keefe from right field.
Ken Meriam was hit by a
pitch and moved to second on
Doug Spitzi,g's single. Keri
Vanderhurgh walked to load
the bags and John Phillips,
Rick Sowerby and Paul Kelly
each drew a free ticketfrc/m

Tigert tied the game in the
hottom of the third with a '
home run 'with 'nd one on and
the Company added three
mose runs in the fourth to`
take an 8-5 lead. Casey
Wildgen singled and moved to
third on a single by Arbour.
Conlon used a fielder's
choice to single . and , the
Pontiacs missed Wildgen at
the plate on the play. Conlon
stole a second and followed
Arbour over the plate on
Tigert's single.
The Pontiacs regained the
lead in the fifth inning with a
four rtin burst that moved
them into a 9-8 lead. Ken
Vanderhurgh, Rick Sowerby
and -John Phillips_ each
singled and Paul Kelly
hammered a triple to move
.three of the runs over and
scored himself on Daer's
single.
The Company took the lead
hack in the sixth with a three
run rally. Arbour singled and
went to third on an error to '
first baseman Ron Sowerby
on Conlon's hit. Glen Tigert
waited' out .a walk and Tom
O'Keefe singled Arbour and
Conlon. home. A pass ball
allowed Tigert to score the
winning run.
Paul .Kelly pulled the
Pontiacs within one in the
final inning when he doubled,
.went to third on a sactfifice
and scored on !ton Sowerby's
shot that O'Keefe stabbed •in
right field.
Gallow's shot and went to
second on a throwing error to
Glen Falkiner. Falkiner
threw the ball away a second
time on Gerry Dursts hit and
Hansen made it 4-2.
Lee Arbour singled to start
off the Maitland second and
moved to third on 'a single by
Klages. Gallow scored him
with a single and went to third
on Hansen's single. JimwDurst
went to left centre like Gallow
wand Sowerby and Maitland
was up 9-2.
Jon Ginn took advantage of
a throwing error by Ron
Klages and scored from
second when Sowerby
smacked his second homer
making it 9-2. Gerry Durst got
that,back in the fourth with a
two run_ shot with Hansen
aboard.
Mike Wildgen notched the
final Dunlop run in the
seventh when he used an
error to single, went to second
on a wild pitch, third on a

The Birds opened a two rtin
lead in the first when Len
Kolkman singled, stole
second, moved to third on
John Hakkers sacrifice and
scored on a fielder's choice to
Jim Harrison. Dennis Miskie
grabbed a two out single and
scored on a hit and run single
by Phil Turner.
The Steelers used three
innings to tie the game and in
the fourth went up by two. In
the third Ed" Jones singled;
went to second on a wild pitch
and scored on Tim McLean's
double. Ron )<Viiller led off the
third With a single, moved
down on a wild pitch and
scored' on Wayne Draper's
single.
Jack Kellough tripled to
start the .fourth. Lloyd Tigert
waited out a walk and stole
second and an error on what
should have been a sacrifice
fly by Brian 'Thompson
scored him.
The Birds tied the game in
the sixth before -Jones killed
the drive.. Jim Harrison and
Dennis Miskie hit back to
back singles to start the burst
after Hakkers struck out.
Both moved a ba on a ild

one hemer and four runs in
three innings for Dunlop and
John Crawford was tagged
