residents of Colborne

the Steam Train Excursions
on Sunday. Early Sunday
morning 'Mr. and Mrs. Alvin

from Goderich to Guelph to
get the train there. Mr.
Malcolm Campbell and Mr.
Fred Durst had this
responsibility and among
those on the bus Gordon and
Gertrude Kaitting were two

At 8:45 a.m, when all
boarded the train at Guelph it
was quite a sight. The steam
train pulled up tothe plat-
form, eight coaches long, five
were the old coaches where
the wintlows opened and you
could lean out the window to
see what was going on or get
an eye full of cinders if you
weren't careful , and three
were the newer coaches,

Can you picture about 500
people hurrying to try and get
in the cQac et?-Wezwaited a

he was in the Unemployment
Office in Goderich for years;
down to the station to see--
Goderich folk he knew and of
course, we had a nice visit as
he lived in our apartment in
Goderich for years. When we.
went to get on the train the
coaches were pretty well
filled and we had quite a time
to get a seat but we managed
and Toot Toot Toot, we were
on our way.
It was a splendid trip,
turning back the years in -
memory to when you used to
travel that ' way. The con-

the trainman going through -to
see everything was o.k. and
this time there were extra
