On December 5, 1840, there
came to the rectory of St.

Hutcheson Lizars. Signing as
witnesses were W. Dunlop,
R.W. Lizars and Dan Lizars.
Other names well known in
the early years of the area

Daniel Miller, Colborne,
married Mary Hamblin on
July 7, 1839. Richard Jewell of

Jane Lang on April 15, 1840.
Rev. Mr. Campbell, who
transferred to Bayfield
parish in 1899, returned to
Goderich in February, 1852,
to be married by Mr. Elwood
to Eliza Helen Slocombe, of
Goderich.
.Upon Mr. Campbell's
arrival to take charge of the
parish, the wardens sort of
commandeered for him a
frame house that Thomas
Kneesh'aw had built for
himself, Evidently Mr.
Kneeshaw was not long in
putting up another house, for
on August 25, 1835 he and Ann
Alexander "of the London
road, spinster," were
married by Mr: Campbell.
