Research discloses that the
McDougalls were connected
with several well known
Goderich families, their
members now widely scat-
tered Three houses in which
these families lived remain
today. basically as built,
though the "youngest" is 80.
In a London Free Press 100 -
years -ago flashback
published recently, it was
recalled that the . Toronto
Street Railway had been
purchased by "Messrs.
George and W.T. Kiley of
London, for $48,000 , . They
intend expending a Large sum
and putting it immediately in
the best state of repair."
The Kielys (correct
spelling) already had some
transportation experience —
or at least; W.T. had — in the
operation of stage coaches
out of London. They ran the
Toronto railwaywith hor-
sedrawn cars up to the eve of

Dr. Peter A. McDougall, one of the earliest physicians in
Goderich, served the community in that capacity for
almost a quarter-century, also as a member of town
council, four years as mayor. This picture is a copy of
one taken when he was mayor.
