They were 13 weeks my crossing, and their landing was delayed by an outbreak of scarlet fever. During all that • time, Whiteford would have had no word as to the whereabouts of his family. Letitia Whiteford, then aged three, lived on the Exeter farm with her parents until she married Andrew Dreaney. The ceremony was performed at Bayfield In September, 1853, by Rev. Robert Francis Campbell; a former army officer who had been_ first Anglican clergyman in Goderich. The Dreaneys moved northward in Huron County, settling on a 150 -acre farm in the 4th concession of Ashfield, two and a half miles west of Dungannon. To them were born eight children, and there were 22 grandchildren. Mr, Dreaney was a End of an era in salt history.
