they have, but don't be sad or
disappointed about it - take it -

make great conversation and
laughter and new friends too,

So, sharing your memories

start off with a new set of
memories of a happy time in
your old home town.
Some of the decorations
around town are to remind us
that things were very dif-

them, you don't have to suffer
any of their hardships - and
sad to say, you can't really

A bit of nostalgia will be
recalling the wonderful hot
dogs you used to buy from
Pete's Hot Dog Stand.
Every night without fail for
years Pete Zimmerman had
his little old car which was a
great little kitchen,
emanating the enticing
smells of meat and onions,
dra-wing crowds from all
around The Square - besides
those who drove up especially
Royal Bank hWhat wasbit that
created a memory that you
could never forget?
Some say it was the type of
weiners he served and the
.way the onions were. cooked -
never greasy or overcooked -
..and always served on a hot,
'not soggy bun WITH a
smile and a bit of con-
versation, That bit of
conversation, I believe, was a
big part of the deal. A friend
who was always glad tosee
you, who never forgot yoer
name, who always had a
smite -- it was Pete who drew
you back. Well now, it is
doubtful if the 111 ole Wagon
will be on The Square but it
will not be because it couldn't
run that far. The wagon is in
good shape. Pete cranks it up
now and again for kicks. Its a
1923 or 25 model T and if they
don't get to The Square you
are welcome to go to the
Zimmerman home where it is
"resting".
There is goint to be a great
Soap Box Derby - and the
Shirt Tail Parade - that's fun -
and the bed races. CRAZEE!
Some of you have seen
some of the practice runs for
the bed races - I thought I saw
some getting ready with their
shirt tail stuff, too.
The Soap Box Derby starts
at 9 o'clock in the morning
Friday July 1 - West St. Be
there early. The Bed races
happen at 2 p.m. around The
Square. At 8 p.m. take your
friends to GDCI to enjoy some
of the award winning plays
written by- our own great
writer and director Warren
Robinson.
