open again

The library staffapologizes
for the inconvenience to our
patrons for the recent closing.
The library is now open again
for business. Thanks to the
Town of Goderich for their
speedy work.
There are now public
washrooms on the main floor.
Mr. Gordon Crabb and the
Friends of the Library have
completely redecorated the
film room. Labor Was all
volunteer, paint was donated
by the Town of Goderich,
tracking and chains were
paid by the Library Board.
Tracking has been installed
in preparation for an art
display entitled "People".
Come downstairs and visit
this display of contemporary
art from June 30 - July 12.
At this time when people
are remembering the town's
past, .the Goderich Branch
has an exhibit • of Huron
County History. Two
photocopied pamphlets,
"Goderich the Beautiful"
contain photographs of the.
town at the turn of the cen-
tury, Microfilm of the
Goderich Signal and
Goderich Star tell of past
events.
Of interest to the young
people)the Goderich branch is
holding a summer reading
program entitled "SupeY
Snooper". Full details of this
program, story hours and
upcoming puppet shows by
"No Strings Attached" are
available at your branch. -
Visitors are welcome to
participate in all of these
events. '
A kit on Sate Boating Week,
July 1 - 7 is on display at the
Goderich branch. Before
going out on the lake, why not
visit, the; branch and sail

Excellent community spirit has been
displayed by the group of citizens who
gave -much of their time to work on the
Decorating Committee.
It has been a pleasure to work with them
and most sincere thanks go to these people.
Benjanin Parsons who in
185_0. was the first mayor of
Goderich, The Dotterer
residence was built in 1858 by
Jacdb Seigmiller who worked
as a trader in hides and
liquors and later became an
influential landowner in
Goderich.
