Mosquitos in first The Mosquito team deserves all the headlines this week as they won a solid victory against Seaforth by the score of 4 -] to take over first place in their division! Jeff Denom me and John Thompson combined for all of the Goderich goals with each player scoring two. The entire team played very well as they have done all season as is indicated by their first place position. A special thanks to referee Rick Fisher and linesmen Karl Kroehmer and Pil Grace. In the Bantam division Goderich travelled to Sarnia to lose a tough one 4-2 against the Sarnia Dimocco Con- tractors. Goderich couldn't help but have a winner in the Atom division as the Goderich A team played the Goderich B team. The A team came up with a 7-0 shutout. However the score is deceiving as tie B team played much better than the score indicates and„ made the A team work hard for their victory., ' The Goderich Squirts ran up against a stone wall when they met Grand Bend in Goderich. Gerry Kingsley caught a hard -shot near the end of the first, half to keep the game deadlosked 0 - 0. However late in the second half Grand Bend broke through with the games only tally to win 1-0. This was the first goal scored against • Flyers Rovers Racers Dynamo Gerry Kingsley in three games! The Squirt's—Zine win against three losses is very deceiving, as on the other hand they have only been scored against more than one time in one game and have 13 goals for and ,,goals against. The GoderichSquirts have only allowed two goals in their last 3 games. In the Grand Bend *game Ian MacKinnon deserves special- mention for an ex- cellent defensive effort 'and David Brown who showed 'some real hustle on the for- ward line. After Grand Bend took their 1-0 lead Goderich started to roll and got several shots at and around the Grand Bend Goal. However the Grand Bend goaltender made some splendid saves to earn his shutout. In the house league the Flyers bounced back into first -place by slipping by the Dynamo team 3-1. The Racers and Rovers found themselves in a 1-1 deadlock. `4 This was the rovers first draw of at - of the season.
