Round and about.....
An item of interest, I
thought, was the return visit
from "Sister City" - Bay City,
Michigan on March 20 - I
believe - this year. A goodly
crowd from Goderich
travelled to Bay City and
were treated royally during
their brief stay there.
Everyone had a wonderful
time, I hear, and took part in
their St. Patrick Day Parade.
Now, we hope to have a
goodly number join in our
Sesquicentenial festivities
and also take part in OUR
parade.'
Bay City Mayor John R.
Willertz and family are ex-
pected in Goderich about the
second, third and fourth of
July to be guests of Judge F.
G. Carter and family.
The exchange of visits is
wonderful and I hope our Bay
City friends enjoy Goderich
very much. Our favorite
town! I'm sure you will all do
more than your share in being
friendly to these folks and the
great number expected here
these next two weeks or so.
Enjoy, enjoy!
,Aid you get your "mini
program" of events? They
are available in many spots
and especially in the Log
Cabin on The Square.
Dorothy Wallace has a
great book of interest..to
everyone, who ever loved:any
part of Goderich. It is not on
the stands at this time but you
can save a few dollars by
ordering it at the Log Caber.
The wonderful display of
the replicas of the Crown
Jewels with the colorful
guard to stand by, is going to
be a big attraction from June
29 to July 3 in the Courthouse.
Also shown will be a large
number or "Royal Dolls"
owned by our own Katrina
Dyke. About 12 or 15 years
ago Katrina was given a
"Queen Doll" in beautiful
robes and that started her on,,
I should think, a fairly ex -

pensive hobby. She now has
dolls way back from Henry
IV, or was it VI? Anyway,
besides the Kings and Queens
she has the Royal family and
they are priceless. You will
find them displayed near the
Royal Jewels (replicas of
course) and I hear the Royal
Guard ("Beefeater") may be
only there the first day which
is June 29.
The Goderich Maple Leaf
Chapter of the I.O.D.E. are to
be congratulated and thanked
for their efforts to bring such
a prize to little, old Port of
Goderich.
Did you notice the nice
photo of Mrs. Jean Scanlon
and daughter Phyllis in last
week's paper? I haven't seen
Phyllis in years and years
and now she is the image of
her lovely mother. Isn't that
nice?
June 30 will see a lot of snip -
snipping going on as I've
heard threats to a great
number of beautiful beard-
s.Some of those who signed up
for the contest found they just
couldn't take it but others
who persisted will create a
good contest. Don't miss it at
7 p.m. on June 30 in Cour-
thouse Square.

A big help during our 150tH
year Jubilee 3 festivities will
be the suppers and dinners
planned for those days. The
church `women have planned
several, so take note of them
in the Mini Program. Other
groups in and around the area
are taking advantage' of this
"time to raise money for their
projects so this will help
everyone.
