The election for Parish advisory board officers for St. Joseph's, Kingsbridge took place on Sunday, June 12. Newly elected members are Terry Dalton; Cyril Austin, Antone VanOsch and Denis elarripagne; youth representation, Bernie VanOsch; garvey public speaking representative, Mrs. Clarice Dalton. On the board still are' Clarence Doherty, Bill Van Osch, John Austin and Tom Hogan. Retring members are Eugene Frayne, Joe O'Keefe, Jim Martin and Donald Frayne. Mrs. Vincent Austin, a patient in Victoria Hospital, London since May 26 was released from the hospital on Wednesday, June 15th. Welcome is given to Mr. and Mrs. Bob Snyder and boys who are residing in the house formerly occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Austin and family. Thirteen cartons of used clothing were packed and shipped to Comberemere by the Kingsbridge Catholic Women's League. Mark Lalonde and Shawn Dalton left by motorcycle.on Thursday, June 16 and at- tended the wedding of Mark's brother Jim Lalonde at New Liskeard on Saturday, June 18. They left New Liskeard on Sunday travelling to Edson, Alberta for employment &king the summer months. Mrs. Joseph (Mary) O'Keefe will teach -Kin- dergarten at St. Joseph's School Kingsbridge, duties to commence on September 1, 1977. Mrs. O'Keefe will replace Mrs. Anne Riegling who is leaving 'this area to make her home in Brown - vale, Alberta. Mr. Harold Zettler will be teaching at St. Joseph's school, Kingsbridge with duties commencing Sep- tember 1, 1977. We welcome Mr. Zettler to this com- munity. Interment Don Duffs nark 17th anniversar by Blanche Deeves Mr. and Mrs. Don Duff celebrated their 17th an- niversary on the weekend. They had frjoends and relatives at their place for a house warming party and received many nice gifts. The evening was spent playing cards and everyone enjoyed a social time. The community would like to give its best wishes to the Duff's on their anniversary. The ham and turkey supper at the Holmesville United Church had another'suc- cessful year. Mrs. Hannamaker of Napani is visiting her sister, WS. Orville Blake. Mr. and Mrs:' Murtay McDougall had their niece Mrs. Diane Argyle of Hayfield visiting with them on the weekend. Shirley Norman of Kit- chener was home on the weekend to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Norman. On Father's Day, Bonnie Holmesville news Lockwood, Jean Purdue and Blanche Deeves took their husbands to the Sandpiper Inn at Vanastra for dinner. Bus Trip The Goderich Township WI are planning a bus trip to the McLaughlin Estate in Oshawa. If anyone is in- terested in going, please call 524-7051 or 524-7436 im- mediately for tickets. Everyone is welcome on this trip. School News School will end on Friday, June 24 for all pupils. Dismissal will take place 2..00 pm. We hope that th pupils have a healthy and happy holiday. Friday, June 24 the annual graduation for grade eight will be held with a noon luncheon at 12:15 and the graduation program at 1:15 pm. The grade eight- pupils will be excused from morning classes and will attend the ceremonies with their parents or guasdians. All parents of the grade eight students are cordially invited to the luncheon and program. The pupils from grades five to seven'will also participate in the graduation services. Though school officially ends on June 24, some of the students are being asked to return on June 29 to par- ticipate in a ball tournament at Clinton. Recently the grade eight class took a trip to Niagara Falls and the grade five class visited the Science Centre in Toronto. Everyone had a good time and both trips were financed by student raised funds and board con- tributions. Art Club .hosts 'event Over 100 people attended an Open House held by' the Art Club at the Goderich Public Library en Thursday, Tune 2. In connection with Jul ilee 3, Most of the paintings on display related to a pioneer theme. The club is hoping to 'have exhibitions in the library twice a year in co- operation with Bill Partridge. The Goderich Art Club is well over 25 years old. In its earlier days, the club was encouraged and helped by an artist named Tom Pritchard from Manchester, England. Fifteen or sixteen years ago when Martha Rathburn was president of the Art Club an outdoor art exhibition was sponsored by the club. This exhibition• became known as the Art Mart. It grew quickly in popularity with busy ar- tists from all over Ontario wishing to participate. A few years ago people who made crafts decided to join the Art Mart' as well and they have remained to make the Art Mart what it is today --a summer tradition in the Court House park on the Square.
