m floor lines
The Huron County Board of
Education approved a
suggestion Thursday from
South Huron Secondary
School in Exeter that a
student be hired to repaint the
lines on the school gym-
nasium floor saving the board
about $1,000: The suggestion
,was made when school
personnel asked if a student
could do the work when a
custodian, who will be san-
ding and refinishing the floor,
said he felt repainting the
lines was not maintenance
work.
John Cochrane, director of
ovim little dream world for a
good part of the second half of
this game, due to the arrival
of a friend who shall remain
nameless (but we know who .,
we are, don't we, ` ii•IeIen??)

decision may ruffle some
feathers since the student to
be hired was the son of one of
the school's physical
education instructors and
that the project may' go..
against board policy with
private enterprise.
Cochrane said the school
would like to hire the son of
the 'instructoe since it' was
r
auviset► the student is reliaole
and it would be more con-
venient for his father to
supervise and probably help
.him. The director also said
the commercial rate for
stripping, repainting court
lines and refinishing the floor
would be about $1,200 and the
minimum' . wage paid the
student .plus the cost of
materials would total about
$200. He asked if the project
would affect the board's
policy on advertising work
and how the board felt about
competing with private en-
terprise.
The board resolved that the
, principals of county schools
be permitted to hire students
to perform maintenance
tasks in out-of-school hours
provided the student's
capability to perform the task
is agreeable to the principal,
superintendent and plant
superintendent, that the
minimum wage be paid and
that the total cost of such
work is deducted from the
appropriate budget and does
not cause a deficit in said
budget.

Tennis Tip no. 10
As a finish to this series of tennis tips, I would like
to list some rules of etiquette and common sense
practices that can make the game more enjoyable.
The server is the scorekeeper during singles and
doubles. This practice eliminates arguments. At the
some time, the score should be stated clearly at the
end or beginning of each point. -
As a show of respect to the server, all loose tennis
balls should be returned accurately to him. Not only
does this speed up the game but also makes it more
enjoyable for the server.
Wait for rallies to stop before fetching stray balls.
This is lly

Anyma ementtbehind of the r in rolls t
infront of a
player competing can destroy his concentration.
Refrain from racquet throwing as a method -of
relieving frustration. It only serves Ao display your
true feelings ,to your opponent, much to his delight of
course.
Finally, learn the rules thoroughly. The rule book is
short and easy to understand. A thorough knowledge
here can save embarrassment at all levels of play.
