The year-end project was assigned to G'.DC.I. science students by teacher Daryl Carpenter and took the form of written 'reperts, personal opinion essays and ' con- structed modelsof alternate energy sources. Joanne Hillier actually cooked hot dogs in her project; a solar ,heated oven. Joanne Van Osch wrote up her project report on paper which she recycled .herself. She combined used paper and wood shavings in a blender, put the mixture in -rt tub' of water, screened it and ironed' the final product, Mark Doherty constructed a solar heater panel which Photos and story' by Joanne Walters kon actualfy produces hot water when exposed to the sun. Randy Little designed a sknall scale model of a house heated by solar energy with an electrical generating water wheel at its side.
