The regular June meeting
of Legion Branch 109 was held
in the Jubilee Room of the
Branch with the newly
elected president, Comrade
E.C. Johnstone in the chair.
First vice-president, Roy
Mugford, reported on the
provincial convention in
London and the floor ap-
proved a donation of $200
from Branch 109 to the Cobalt
Disaster Fund. This northern
Ontario mining town suffered
serious damage from a forest
fire and Legion branches at
the Provincial convention_
donated over $30,000 to the
town of Cobalt.
During the meeting ten new
members were installed
either as regular or associate
members of the branch by a
branch installation team.
On June 15, 1977 the branch
will again play host to the
veterans from Westminster
Hospital in London. These
veterans enjoy an afternoon -
of fishing on the lake and
have supper at the branch
prior to returning to London.
Past president, Ed Tonks,
the Legion representative on
the 'ek Jubilee 3 committee,
reported on events of interest
to Legionnaires and veterans
during Jubilee 3 celebrations.
On June 29, a plaque will be
placed at the Court House in
memory of the late Air Vice -
Marshal Sully.
On July 1 the Legion will
provide the Color Party for a
patriotic service at the Court
House. At 10 a.m. on July 2
Legion members are invited
to attend a wreath laying
ceremony at the cenotaph.
Aircraft in town for the Air
Shovit will stage a Fly Past
during this ceremony.

Ceremonial at the Cleary
• Auditorium in Windsor,
Saturday, June 4 when Allan
Stoll of Colborne Township,
joined the Shriners. The
specialevent started with
Giant piriner's Parade in the
— afternoon. Later those from
brancles with their Color •
Parti e will be in attendance. -
On •July 4, citizens and
veterans from. American
Legion Posts will visit
Goderich and attend a flag
raising ceremony. A Levee
will be held at the Legion Hall
on the same day from '3 to 5
p.m.
The Legion Branch and the
Ladies Auxiliary will have a
booth at the country market
to be held at the arena. • .
On July 9, Legion Branch
109 will enter a float and cblor
party in the Jubilee 3 Parade.
That evening the Ladies
Auxiliary of the -Legion is
holding an old time box social
in the Jubilee 3 Room of the
Legion.

109 was selected to attend the
district Legion convention in
Kitchener on Sunday, June
12.
