ASSOCIATION
F,.
When my Unitrex digital
watch started blinking on and
off with any wrist movement,
1 immediately packaged it -and
sent it to their service
department, to be fixed under
warranty, along with a cheque
to cover return postage,,
(registered mail.)
That was on December 16th.
My cheque was cashed but
have still not received my
watch. AfterI got , no , reply
from two letters I phoned
twice, but their one and only
line was busy and I was finally
told I would have to wait in
line, but I couldn't because it
was long distance.
If you could get any action
at all in this matter it would be
greatly appreciated.
Our reply to this reader and
others with similar com-
plaints against UNITREX is
published below.

It appears that UNITREX
haveceasedoperations at
their Toronto location, and
what makes this closure such
a mystery is because one day
cast April, the premises were
just suddenly closed without
any announcement from any
member of the firm.
No bankruptcy has as yet
been filed, so officials from
the Ministry of Consumer and
Commercial Relations, are
trying to locate UNITREX
officers because of the deluge
of customers complaints.
At the moment it would
appear that your watch is one
of thousands sitting
somewhere in a locked Don
Mills warehouse.
If you can let us know where ,
your watch was purchased,
perhaps we can find out if that
particular firm will honour the
warranty or not. Apparently
some Unitrex retailers are
now doing this. ,

This new programme . has.

that, "It eliminates the

within 7 days, with no pills,

They say it even works for
drinkers who deny being
alcoholics, and claim en-
dorsement by clergymen .and
'psychologists. The ad. goes on
to say that, "This is all
learned in the privacy of the
drinker's own home."
