JAMES ROBERT DURST White gladioli and yellow mums decorated Londesboro United Church for the double ring ceremony in which James Robert Durst married Joanne Marie Thompson on May 7 at 3:30 p.m. The bride isthe daughter of Ken and Ilene Thompson of 198 Sunset Drive in Goderich. The groom is the son of Albert and Phyllis Durst of RR2 Clinton. The Reverend Stanley McDonaldof Londesboro conducted the ceremony. The organist was Mrs. Louise McGregor and the soloist was Miss Marianne Frayne, Mrs. McGregor accompanied Miss Frayne as she sang I'll Be There and Annie's Song. The bride given in marriage by her father. She wore a dress of white crystal peau accented with venice lace appliques of white lily of the valley sprays. The gown had an empire waist falling to a chapel train. A Juliet cap headpiece with matching lace trim accented with pearls held the bride's elbow length veil. She carried a bouquet of white sweetheart roses, carnations, lily of the valleys and baby's breath. Matron of honor was Mrs. Judi McMichael of PR° 'npar1ic Dungannon, sister of the bride. She wore a long halter top style gown of peach polyester knit with matching short sleeved jacket. She wore a garland of peach and yellow carnations as a headpiece and carried nosegays of peach and yellow carnations and baby'sbreath. Bridesmaids were Debi Durst, sister of the groom, Sandra Riley and Brenda Loughead. They were dressed identically to the matron of honor with Sandra and Brenda in yellow. Floweer girl was Rhonda Lee McMichael of Dungannon, niece of the bride. She wore a floor length halter style dress in yellow flowered pring matching the bridesmaids colors. She carried a nosegay similar to those of the bridesmaids. Ringbearer was Daniel Durst of Goderich, cousin of the groom. Groomsman was Gerry Durst of Goderich, brqther of the groom. Ushers were Bill Durst, brother of the groom, James Thompson, brother of the bride and Wally Pierson, friend of the groom. The groom and his at- tendants wore brown tuxedos with darker brown velvet trim. Following the wedding, a reception was held in the Blyth Community Centre. The head table was centred with the wedding cake decorated in white with peach and yellow roses. The bride's mother greeted guests in a long gown of apricot polyester knit with a matching flowered chiffon capelet jacket. She wore a yellow rose corsage. The groom's mother wore powder blue polyester knit gown with cape sleeves and softly shirred front accent. For travelling to Northern Ontario the bride changed to a powder blue pant suit with white accessories and a white carnation corsage. JOHN MAURICE McDONALD Blyth United Church was the scene of a pretty spring wedding on Saturday, May 7, 1977 at 2:30 when Holly Susan Elliott and Jelin Maurice McDonald exchanged marriage vows before Rev. Cecil Wittich. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William G. Elliot of Blyth. Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm McDonald of Oak- ville are the parents of the groom. Baskets of white gladioli, daisies and mums, some tinged with coral and blue, decorated the chancel of the church. White satin bows marked the guest pews. Howard Reg. M. of Elyria, Ohio are- now- Deep Muscle Therapists (D.M.T.). According to Mary Kish, a Registered • Technician, "I first learned about deep muscle therapy through a friend of mine who was booked for eye surgery. After her first deep muscle therapy treatment, her eye improved to a point where surgery was no longer necessary and her vision returned and is im- proving with each treat- ment." However she said she has never seen more dramatic results than at the Pfrimmer Clinic, "I heard of these results last year from a friend,- who was unable to leave her wheelchair for some time, until she had her first deep muscle therapy treatment at the clinic. She was .able to walk, even go up and down stairs, this after being a wheelchair patient for many months," she explained. Stanley J. Tom Kenken of London who sang Sunrise, Sunset, The Wed- ding Prayer and We've Only Just Begun.- Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a low- necked gown of polyester. The skirt featured layers of chiffon over crepe, extending to a short train. The bodice was of laee over crepe. The sleeves were full and sheer and gathered to a lace cuff. Her wide -brimmed hat was trimmed with lace that matched the Tape ef her gown. She carried a cascade bouquet of pink sweetheart roses, white daisies, blue strawflowers and white stephanotis. She wore a gold heart -shaped locket, a gift from the groom. Mrs. Brian Edgeworth of St. Thomas was matron of honour. Miss Laurie Elliott of Blyth and Miss Pattie Brandreth of Toronto were the bridesmaids. They were gowned alike in deep aqua -blue jersey sleeveless dresses with sheer flowered jackets with chinese collars. They - wore halos of daisies in their hair and carried bouquets of daisies with coral carnations and blue ribbons. They - wore gold-filled necklaces, the gifts of the bride. Groomsman was Alan -McKeag of Mississauga--; Larry Spence of Burlington and Jim Barnes of Matheson were ushers. The groom and his attendants wore black suits with pink boutonnieres. Following the wedding ceremony, the guests viewed gifts at the bride's home on Dinsley Street before proceeding to the reception at Seaforth Optimist Hall. The bride's mother greeted guests in a long dress of mint green polyester knit, flocked with white. Her cor- sage was pink rose buds and white stephanotis. The groom's mother wore a pea,ch-coloured gown with a blue corsage. For 'travelling to the Canadian West and Mexico, the bride changed into a brown jumper with striped blouse. Her corsage and the groom's boutonniere were sonja roses to match the red shade in her blouse. Mrs. Brian Edgeworth and Miss' Laurie Elliott en- tertained at a miscellaneous shower for Goderich high school friends and former neighbours of the bride at the home of Mrs. Glenn McMichael in Goderich. The groom's parents held a party at their home for several family friends and neighbors. They alsoen-- tertained the bridal party at the Benmiller Inn -following the rehearsal on May 6. • ular - Guests attended the wedding from London, England, Linden, Michigan and many Ontario points, including Ottawa, Creemore, Toronto, London, Oakville and several local places. Coulter, 181 Cameron Street, received his Bachelor of Applied Science degree in civil engineering at Convocation at the University of Waterloo.on May 28. 'He has accepted a position with, I.B.M. in Toronto. K of C meet The 79th annual convention of the Knights of Colembus was held in Hamilton. The delegates from the Father Nagle Council No. 5420 of Goderich were Grand Knight, Gerry Pitre and Recorder, Joe Stokes. The convention was held for three days beginning on May 21. In conjunction with the convention, the, annual charity car draw was held. The principle winner was the Arthritis and Rheumatism Association of Ontario. The winners. of the three cars were Donna Ferguson of Ottawa, J. Perrault of South River and Mrs. A. Cowan of Toronto. The Knights of Columbus thank the people of Goderich and area for their support in the draw as it means that the Knights of Columbus of Goderich will be able to further their charitable work in the area. Sorority off to breakfast The social committee, of Beta Theta sorority held an impromptu breakfast at the home of Dorrie Chisholm on May 28. Members were awakened in the wee hours of the morning and arrived at the breakfast in a variety of night attire. The sorority sisters were driven home after a delicious breakfast and friendly conversation. It was a very enjoyable and unusual start -to their day. s ' by Paul Brown (O.L.T.A.
