Goderich Legion installs
new Branch officers

On Saturday evening, May
28, ' the Jubilee Room of
Legion Branch 109 was the
setting of an impressive joint
installation ceremony which
saw comrade Eric Johnstone
installed as the new president
of Legion Branch 109.
At the same time, comrade
Mona Davis took the oath of
office for a second term as
.president of the Branch 109
Ladies Auxiliary.
This year the installment
was conducted by an 11
member installing team from
the Seaforth Legion Branch
under the leadership of past
zone commander comrade.
Cleve Coombs of Seaforth
Branch.
• A kilted piper accompanied
each group of Legion and
Auxiliary office holders as
they were paraded before the
installing officer.
Installed as vice presidents
of Branch 109 were comrade
Roy Mugford as first vice and
comrade Walter Sheardown
as second vide. The new vice
presidents of the Ladies
Auxiliaryare comrade Rose
Hill as first vice and comrade
Sharon Scruton as second
vice.
Other officers installed in

'Miss Hortense HapP-el,
assisted by French teacher,
Miss Vianne Trezise took her
Grade 7 class ---,46„ Camp
Menesetung . on Tuesday
overnight to Wednesday. The
class had an orientation trip,
a campfire and evening walk
as part of their program.
The Health nurses carried
out the fluoride treatment for
children's teeth, giving each
child a toothbrush and some"
classes tooth paste as well.
Several teachers from
Brookside staff attended the
United meeting of
F.W.T.A.O. at the Bedford
Hotel on Wednesday, April 25.
The guest speaker was Mrs.
Alfred McKee of Benmiller
who spoke on perennials and
showed slides of her garden.
Field Day was held at
Brookside on Friday and
winners will be announced
next week. Activities were
just finished by bus. time on
Friday.

a general meeting of the St.
Joseph's school association
on Wednesday evening, May
25 beginning at 8:15 p.m.
Principal David Zyluk said
committees will be set up for
the following; Provincial
Development Days, finance,
curriculum; promotion of
school; school activities; the
Garvey awards and school
floats. The St. Joseph's
principal, Mr. David Zyluk,
