Did this shake up the stalwart men? Not for one cotton-pickin' second!! The United team melted into one whole and became eyes, ears and feet for each other. They controlled the ball with perfect "precision, achieved passes and produced moves tons! (and I can't afford that at the best of times! ! ) Goderich United hasn't been thrown such a blatant challenge for many a moon, but this game against Oiikridge tested their mettle and left them conquering heroes! (doesn't really take much to begin with ! !) -- Oakridge, being the dedicated team they are, were bound to score on and they did! This goal only fantastic?! Now, I'll be the first to admit that the Italian in me tends to snake me a "teeny" bit emotional... we're not happy unless we're weeping and and wailing about something... so I'm permitted this show of love and approval! -You would have been equally as awed and proud of United's skill, ability and complete trust in each other. It's so terrific to see them shine• with their old razzle- dazzle (good thing everyone wore sunglasses! !) It's extremely difficult to choose someone who, above all the others, stands aut. Everyone gave 150 percent... but I think it's fair to say (and the team will agree) that Rolf Gott- schalk deserved to be named - "Player -of -the -day". He not only, was a tower of strength; he was a towering tornado! He travelled every inch of the field, leaving devastation in his w ,ke! (and that was only his charm... you should have seen him play soccer!!) He detected every weak link in Oakridge's chain of defense and severed it so completely they were left in a helpless frenzy! !,This is one talented fella! The remaining players each receive their own special "Sly Fox' award because each gave a unique contribution to this game: Clare Sager for his unerring sense of timing, quick mental reflexes and his complete loyalty.
