The radios have been in operation since last month. They have both local and county
channels and will be used for calling police, ambulance and extra forces to the scene of a

Dates finalized for Festival
Dates have been finalized
for the Blyth Summer
Festival '77 and in addition to
our own four plays "The
Blood is Strong", by Lister
Sinclair, "A Summer Bur-
ning" by Harry J. Boyle,
"The Blyth Memorial History
Show",by Jim Schaefer and
the "Shortest Distance,
Between Two Points" by
Keith Roulston, ,two ad-
ditional shows "Artichoke"
by Joanna Glass and "Man
with a Load of Mischief" by
Ben Tarver will also be
performed as part of the
Blyth Festival '77 in an ex-
change with Victoria
Playhouse, Petrolia.
"Artichoke" written by
Joanna Glass, is a con-
temporary drama of life in a
small prairie town which
progress has passed by. The
play, moving portrayal of the
effect of self imposed
isolation has recently been
performed with great success
in both Montreal and Toronto.
It will be shown evenings -
July 13, 15, 19, 21, 23: matinee
- July 14.
"Man with A Load of
Mischief" written by Ben
Tar•ver is to light hearted fast
moving musical comedy set
in an 18th century English
country inn (from which the
play takes its title). This
comedy of intrigue has
piaster and man competing
for the hand of a mysterious
lady with most unexpected
results, It will be shown
evenings - July 12, 14, 16, 18,
20, 22: matinee - July 21.
Blyth's own four shows will
he performed on the following
dates: "The Blood is Strong"
by Lister Sinclair, evenings -
July 4, 5, 7, 9, 28, August 4, 12,
16: matinees - July 31 at 3:30
p.m., August 18 at 2:00 p.m.
"A Summer Burning" by
Harry J. Boyle, evenings -
July 1, 2, 6, 8, 26, (30 at 8:00
p.m.), matinee; August 11.
Threesome provides
Old Tyme Music
The Old Tyme program
was held in the Normal Care
sitting room on Monday af-
ternoon with the music
provided by Elsie Henderson,
Norman Speir and Cecil
Skinner.
Mr. Fred Elliott who is the
area representative for Music
Mann tours, of London,
showed coloured slides of
places of interest in Ontario
for the Family Night
program. The pictures shown
were from the African Safari,
at Rockton, Niagara. Falls,
Black Creek Village, the
Science Centre, and Marine
Land.
Thirty members of the over
90 Club met on Wednesday
afternoon. The theme of the
program was Mother's Day
and poems were read by Mrs:''
Ramsay, Mrs. Meston, Mrs,
Doak, Miss Ellis, Mrs.
McGratten, and musical
numbers by the Huronview
Orchestra. The Walkerburn
volunteers of Auburn assisted
with the activities and tea and
cookies were provided by the
kitchen staff.
The Huron Centennial
School of Brucefield
presented their spring con-
cert "The Travelling
Magicians", in the
Auditorium on Thursday
afternoon. The cast included
I:'0 students with the choir, a
ukulele group, the Dancers,
the Seven Dwarfs. Charlie's

Angels and several students
in the different skits, Staff..,..
members directing the
program are Mr, Mathers
Principal, Mrs. Doris
McKinley, musical Director,
Mrs. Mary Moffatt, ac-
companist, and teachers,
Edith Turner, Bud Walker
and Shirley Carter. The
concert was a real treat to the
residents and Mrs. Myrtle
Parker, a great-grandmother
of one of the. students ex-
pressed their appreciation to
all those responsible for the
program.
